That’s like saying you hate all humans only cause’ some humans happens to be English. :anglo-burn:
Sorry, I just also like bumblebees and I admire your taste in insects.
Dragonflies are so far beyond other insects it's not even close like come on. They look like freaking alien space ships, they don't bite you, they're these amazing pearlescent colors, it doesn't get better than that.
And they reduce mosquito populations, which, of course they’re necessary for the environment but any animal that eats them or their larvae is a friend in my book
Fireflies, though sadly I don't see them much in summer in recent years
It's not just you- firefly populations across the world have steeply declined and the summer dusks we enjoyed in our youth will never return. The insect apocalypse is just one more symptom of a dying planet. :(
:deeper-sadness: I miss them, and now I'll miss them more
I found out recently that their larva also glow. I thought I was hallucinating during a trip to the mountains when I began to notice faint lights flickering on the ground.
They're glowworms. I always thought that was a different bug or something. But no, just baby firefly doing a light show on the forest floor.
I mean it's just bees. That's the only right answer. Essential to ecosystem function, adorable, collectivized.
Ladybug. They are very nice looking and keep my garden free of aphids
