One might be led to say that an economic system predicated on infinite compound growth might be incapable of solving the climate crisis :curious-marx:
and where the cost of harming the environment is externalized.
There was a report by TEEB a few years ago about how the biggest companies in the world would not be profitable if environmental cost was included.
The international community is very concerned about this, and if this trend continues they will have no choice but to be very concerned about it.
We have no choice but to hold a conference to tell each other how concerned we are before doing jack shit about it
Libs will just argue that it's accelerating less than it would without those things. Which is maybe true to some ridiculously small extent. Libs love missing the point
Libs will just argue that it’s accelerating less than it would without those things.
Legitimately curious as to how. The balance of carbon emissions is coming from electricity production, car/air transit, and manufacturing. None of that shit has been impacted by these agreements.
But hey, there's one thing that's put a massive damper on all of the above - COVID! Can't wait for Joe Biden's milquetoast disease mitigation efforts to really bend the curve on our carbon footprint.
Joe was a posadist this whole time and will solve climate change by Thanosing America
Bro this time it will work bro we all sat down and agreed bro listen it will work bro this time is different

The solution is obviously to get together and pat ourselves on the back for making vapid promises every few years
There was an easily-available and not particularly expensive replacement to CFCs, so it didn't require the line to go down. :stonks-up:
Line says we gotta die, sorry. :stonks-down:
