    Cold showers to become progressively more and more resistant to colder temperatures were all the rage in Soviet Union. They were supposed to supercharge your immune system and make you all around healthier and what not. There were even popular songs about it.

    What I'm saying is you people are revisionists for questioning a traditional workers' pastime.

    Semi-related. Every morning I take a nice, hot shower. It's the one bit of silence I get during the day. As the end of the shower gets closer, the dread of the day ahead starts to sink in. When I'm done, I'll crank it to freezing cold and just giggle that I'm doing something so silly that I acknowledge will make me suffer. Helps me power through my shitty days just that much more.

    I cold-showered every day for a few months. It always felt extremely unpleasant for about two minutes, but I always left the shower feeling energized and awake.

    Eventually I stopped doing it regularly because the unpleasantness was too much to bear. I still feel way better after an occasional cold shower than after a hot one though.

      I do this too. Makes me feel all fresh and shit. I heard something about being good for your hair and skin by closing your pores, but I don't really know or care.
