I haven't read david foster wallace but I imagine this is the kind of thing his protagonists get up to
Man I just want some magic mushrooms. I've been looking for like months lol. Maybe about to get a hookup next week finally.
I can't get past a drug dealer having a business card, let alone thinking anyone would get "drug delivery" from "mobile bicycle repair".
CNN really out here pushing this Corona China lab theory, the libs are sick
The fact that all outlets have amplified the claim by Redfield, which many have admitted was made without a shred of evidence, shows just how propagandistic they are. There's no way this claim should be discussed to the extent it has, but here we are.
I find the Lindsay Ellis situation very funny, she had a bad take and people made fun of her, then she doble down on the bad take and people decided to dunk on all her past bad takes and instead of making a basic apology she just nuked her account.
very funny indeed
Was this really about dumb shit she said about Pixar movies? Being weirdly puritanical? What really happened there
she said the new pixar movie was like avatar the last airbender in style , ignoring both are based in asian culture, so people made fun of her by showing a picture of vietnam and saying "this is just like avatar", and she got really mad and deleted her account
This is such stupid bullshit I can't even believe. Twitter is a cancer upon humanity.
Early civilisations in Myanmar included the Tibeto-Burman-speaking Pyu city-states in Upper Burma and the Mon kingdoms in Lower Burma. In the 9th century, the Bamar people entered the upper Irrawaddy valley, and following the establishment of the Pagan Kingdom in the 1050s, the Burmese language, culture, and Theravada Buddhism slowly became dominant in the country. The Pagan Kingdom fell to Mongol invasions, and several warring states emerged. In the 16th century, reunified by the Taungoo dynasty, the country became the largest empire in the history of Southeast Asia for a short period. The early 19th-century Konbaung dynasty ruled over an area that included modern Myanmar and briefly controlled Manipur and Assam as well. The British East India Company seized control of the administration of Myanmar after three Anglo-Burmese Wars in the 19th century, and the country became a British colony. After a brief Japanese occupation, Myanmar was reconquered by the Allies and granted independence in 1948. Following a coup d'état in 1962, it became a military dictatorship under the Burma Socialist Programme Party.
For most of its independent years, the country has been engrossed in rampant ethnic strife and its myriad ethnic groups have been involved in one of the world's longest-running ongoing civil wars. During this time, the United Nations and several other organisations have reported consistent and systematic human rights violations in the country. In 2011, the military junta was officially dissolved following a 2010 general election, and a nominally civilian government was installed. This, along with the release of Aung San Suu Kyi and political prisoners, had improved the country's human rights record and foreign relations and has led to the easing of trade and other economic sanctions. There is, however, continuing criticism of the government's treatment of ethnic minorities, its response to the ethnic insurgency, and religious clashes. In the 2015 election, Aung San Suu Kyi's party won a majority in both houses. However, the Burmese military remained a powerful force in politics and, on 1 February 2021, again seized power in a coup d'état.
Myanmar is a member of the East Asia Summit, Non-Aligned Movement, ASEAN, and BIMSTEC, but it is not a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. It is a country rich in jade and gems, oil, natural gas, and other mineral resources. Myanmar is also endowed with renewable energy; it has the highest solar power potential compared to other countries of the Great Mekong Subregion. In 2013, its GDP (nominal) stood at US$56.7 billion and its GDP (PPP) at US$221.5 billion. The income gap in Myanmar is among the widest in the world, as a large proportion of the economy is controlled by supporters of the military government. As of 2020, according to the Human Development Index, Myanmar ranks 147 out of 189 countries in human development.
A diverse range of indigenous cultures exist in Myanmar, with majority culture primarily Buddhist and Bamar. Bamar culture has been influenced by the cultures of neighbouring countries, manifested in its language, cuisine, music, dance and theatre. The arts, particularly literature, have historically been influenced by the local form of Theravada Buddhism. Considered the national epic of Myanmar, the Yama Zatdaw, an adaptation of India's Ramayana, has been influenced greatly by Thai, Mon, and Indian versions of the play. Buddhism is practised along with nat worship, which involves elaborate rituals to propitiate one from a pantheon of 37 nats.
In a traditional village, the monastery is the centre of cultural life. Monks are venerated and supported by the lay people. A novitiation ceremony called shinbyu is the most important coming of age events for a boy, during which he enters the monastery for a short time. All male children in Buddhist families are encouraged to be a novice (beginner for Buddhism) before the age of twenty and to be a monk after the age of twenty. Girls have ear-piercing ceremonies (နားသ) at the same time. Burmese culture is most evident in villages where local festivals are held throughout the year, the most important being the pagoda festival. Many villages have a guardian nat, and superstition and taboos are commonplace.
British colonial rule introduced Western elements of culture to Myanmar. Myanmar's education system is modelled after that of the United Kingdom. Colonial architectural influences are most evident in major cities such as Yangon. Many ethnic minorities, particularly the Karen in the southeast and the Kachin and Chin who populate the north and northeast, practice Christianity. According to The World Factbook, the Burman population is 68% and the ethnic groups constitute 32%. In contrast, the exiled leaders and organisations claim the country is 40% ethnic.
My partner works out and has a great ass. I don’t and I have a hank hill ass.
When i was on it, I had gotten my deadlift close to 315lbs, My Squat to 305lbs. Then I just stopped.
:kitty-cri:
I feel that so much. This pandemic has killed all my strength lifts in addition to all the other crap
I haven't been working out lately , definitely not with any consistency. I can get into a routine for awhile — I think the best streak I've had so far is 2 months but usually it's 1-2 weeks, then something happens (I get focused on something else, I get my period and die for a couple days, I just forget) and working out ceases to exist as a concept in my brain. I have pretty bad adhd which is why this happens, but I'm completely incapable of adding things to a daily routine and if I do something that requires rest days it's even worse, everything becomes a rest day.
Normally I do dumbbells or body weight exercises, I live in a small apartment in a city and can't really do much outside.
Does anyone have any advice for, like, remembering to consistently work out?
Does anyone have any advice for, like, remembering to consistently work out?
The only thing that really helped me with that is training with a zealous comrade who will remind you and punish you with penal squats, should you ever miss a workout on purpose.
Ah thanks! I don't really have anyone who could be accountability buddies in person but I'll see if I can find a distance friend or a comrade who can help me out
Become hyper focused on lifting and think about nothing else worked for me
I've still gotta do a four mile run today. Not looking forward to it, but my new knee braces came in so I have no real excuses except for the usual, "I don't wanna."
Just go for 10 minutes, and then you get to decide whether or not you still wanna
today I biked to a campus and gave out tracts to students with my cool communist friends, today was a good day :wholesome: , maybe I'm doing okay :Care-Comrade:
I've been struggling to increase the reps of my bodyweight workout routine, so I decided to add some weight. After just a few weeks I can already do way more chin-ups/rows/push-ups without extra weight added, I blasted right through that plateau. If you're stuck like I was I highly recommend just throwing some weight in a backpack (like 2-5kg to start)
I knew my fitness was falling by the wayside but reading this thread is really hammering that home lol
I probably walked like 10 miles at work yesterday at least
