Grok has real-time access to info via the 𝕏 platform, which is a massive advantage over other models.

It’s also based & loves sarcasm. I have no idea who could have guided it this way 🤷‍♂️ 🤣

Is it even possible to be more cringe in two sentences by declaring something "based" and then announcing it's "based" because of one's own self basedness for saying naughty words and doing le epic drug references? walter-yell

My translation of Elon's use of based is that it means epic - as in le epic narwhal bacon at midnight.

I'm less generous: I assume "based" means "bigoted edgy shit" when he says it.

Humor fundamentally fails when it is mass produced and repeated relentlessly. It defeats the very mechanisms that are supposed to make a joke funny.

But then again clapter is a thing, as well as "PICKLE RIIIIIICK" assholes.

I remember when discord launched its AI chatbot and nobody ever used it. Literally never seen it being used in the 6 months or so since its implementation.

The persistent LLM enthusiasts that I tend to see either want to aggressively and even maliciously replace "meat robot" workers for some techbro idealistic reason, or they crave some Madonna-Wh*re-Complex digital waifu that always seems just within reach to be their eternal helpmeet and indulge them endlessly.

      Or both.

Speaking of LLM enthusiasts, did you see this banger from Big Yud?

"Among the dangers of AI is that LLMs dual-trained on code and biology could enable computer viruses to jump to DNA substrate. Imagine getting a cold that compromises your immune system and makes it start mining Bitcoin" - Eliezer Yudkowsky

One reason I dislike it is personal. I like the word "grok" but I'll have to stop using it everywhere but here. People might assume I was a Elon xBOY (fanboy).

I generally don't have a good time when I talk to people that insert "grok" into ordinary sentences. Tends to be people that have a lot of Main Character Syndrome that started or got boosted by Heinlein fiction.

Grok is a neologism coined by American writer Robert A. Heinlein for his 1961 science fiction novel Stranger in a Strange Land. While the Oxford English Dictionary summarizes the meaning of grok as "to understand intuitively or by empathy, to establish rapport with" and "to empathize or communicate sympathetically; also, to experience enjoyment"

          Different chud.

Sure, if the writer decides that the Great Man has the magical chops to be the Great Man, yes of course in the setting that is the Great Man. It's how the Thermian argument works.

I'm aware of what Grok means. I just remember it being explained to me as a thing they say in the Gor novels, by someone who is simply far too intelligent (and too good-looking, IMO) to have enjoyed the Gor novels.

The people who throw money at random companies hoping it'll come back multiplied really believe AI is the real shit and that's enough influence to make everybody work in something AI related, even if the devs/companies themselves know it won't go anywhere.
