The photo is a 1974 photo of Leslie Feinberg, from the FBI file on hir. I've written a piece on my interpretation of Transgender Warriors and Trans Liberation, but I don't think it's quite polished enough, so I'll post it later. Instead, I'll go over hir FBI file: https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/dc-metro/rg-065/6282555/Batch0010/6282555_100-HQ-480756.PDF.

The FBI thought Feinberg could be violating the Communist Control Act, advocating the overthrow of the government, and engaging in rebellion. Needless to say, a hero to all of us. Feinberg was a member of the Workers World Party (the party still exists, but more notably PSL split from it), which apparently wasn't openly advocating for the overthrow of the U.S, they just think it's inevitable.

My favorite line? "captioned subject is believed to be a white female, who became male through some kind of sex change operation, and is possibly homosexual". Some interesting language choice, and it's an interesting snapshot into the evolution of Leslie's identity.

The FBI found Leslie's place of birth and birthdate from public school records. It's a bit of an interesting look into all of the many places the FBI can get their information, along with how information like that was so much more patchwork before the digital age.

"Interview of subject is not being recommended because of the questionable nature of his sexuality". Hmm, interesting.

It's interesting how their investigation spanned multiple cities, from Kansas City to NYC to Bufffalo to Boston. It probably involved quite a few officers, though I'm sure it wasn't the main focus for all of them.

There's some interesting mention about changes in Leslie's gender identity. Born a girl, for a time wearing a beard and mustache, then going back to "she". I'm sure we all know, Feinberg's gender didn't stop evolving there.

"Subject reportedly contributes all extra money to WWP", Leslie definitely was dedicated to the cause. Leslie doesn't attend NYC WWP meetings, but the FBI doesn't mention why.

The FBI isn't immune to typoes, Leslie did some "criminal terspass" that garnered some attention. They wasted some time checking if Leslie was in Boston, but verified where Leslie in NYC lived by pretending to be a part of the Voter Registration Commission.

There's a whole 43 pages of documents, all just from 1974-75. There's plenty of interesting tidbits in there, so maybe check it out.

    chronic pain, body

Welp! yea I'm finally at the point where sans prescription painkillers, it is pretty painful to get up from sitting. Me when my fleshform is failing me.

That's okay, body, I still love you. Sucks you'll probably become fully useless before I'm 30 but we'll keep at it. Altering your flesh to make it something you really like, and then having it ruined by chronic pain, that's some kind of cosmic joke.

More and more it's not just the sternum, random portions of my entire torso are screaming in pain. My strength is fading ✨

I probably should... I have a lot of chest and back pain that feels deep, like my bones or the stuff that binds them together is hurting. my GP thinks it's costochondritis, but that doesn't really explain the back and neck pain. unfortunately with the healthcare system in my country it can be challenging, expensive, or a long wait to see specialists. but I should look into it, thank you for the advice.

Fibro is one that i've heard a few other trans and non binary people suffer with, my mother and sister had it too. It's also incurable so sucks and I push through that with exercise which can help, but I have it in a few spots, my lower back, my hips, knees and neck. I have some tendon issues too. I only take over the counter pain relief and go without on most days unless I get a flare up like this morning where I'm stiff and have a bit of trouble walking without slight limping and need time to loosen up

doc gave me some antibiotics and anti-inflammatories a while ago, unfortunately didn't really see any progress with them. regular painkillers don't seem to have much of an effect on the deep pains in my chest and back, i can get codeine+ibuprofen OTC here but i try not to build a reliance on it. GP visits are 60 euro a pop where i live so i just put them off until i have a list of complaints long enough that i feel i can justify the cost. as a result progress on any long-term issue is very slow. i should really push for a specialist referral next time i go though. sadness

My auntie lives with chronic pain, and was talking about the book "from ow to wow: thriving with pain" a while back. Idk, they said it helped them, i just thought i would mention it. Weather could absolutely be part of it as well. I dont even have any artificial joints but when the pressure changes rapidly my joints hurt lol.

Also just like sternum pain in particular really sucks. I remember when I seperated my sternum, that was one of the most painful injuries i ever had, because you cant just not use your sternum. Dislocated shoulder? Fine, just dont use that arm. But the sternum is super integral! Im sorry it gives you so much trouble.

my shit ever stabilises and I stop actively falling apart [...]

WHAT THE FUCK YOU CAN SEPERATE YOUR STERNUM???

yea the sternum is actually 3 plates held together by connective tissue. I actually seperated it because my chin impacted it (side note, spines should not bend like that, im lucky nothing worse happened in that fall). My connective tissues in my body are made super poorly/are filthy removed, so im at high risk of dislocations, separations, etc. I almost always have a rib out (its one specific rib that hates me), and can often crack my back by pressing on my sternum. Somtimes my body just feels like not being held together anymore i guess emilie-shrug

Does the rib hurt a ton when it's out?

I guess? Idk im used to it by now. Its mostly just when i move that it hurts, like walking around, standing up and sitting down, etc. so if i just stay still its only uncomfortable. My life is literally that bad doctor joke sometimes lol.

Its been going out a lot less ever since i got a very firm mattress, but of course now my shoulders are angry at me because of it. just cant win ig.

                  bad doctor joke

A guy goes to the doctor, and the doctor asks him "ok, so whats the issue here?". The guy raises his arm up a little bit in front of him and says "doc, it really hurts when i do this" the doctor looks at him a moment and says "then dont do that. NEXT PATIENT"

Years now 🫣) but its expensive and theyre just gonna be dismissive of me, or worse be like die-motherfucker "its actually the hormones, estrogen makes you weak, you just need to man up and detransition". One of the good things about my body is that everything pops back together just as easily as it popped apart.
