Well, no one noticed or commented that I was wearing makeup (concealer & foundation) to work/presentations, so I am going to make that a regular thing (at least for days where I don't have a ton of lab work that could ruin it).

Love this. Getting a matching concealer and foundation opens so many possibilities. If you have problems with them not staying on throughout the day, highly recommend setting spray(I use one from Urban Decay) or setting powder.

You know any good guides to that stuff that are minimal on the influencer vlogging type stuff? I've been wanting to pick up some basics for awhile and dip my toes in making some minimal makeup part of my morning routine and am completely clueless about it still and feel like matt-joker doing my makeup

What do you want to learn, makeup wise? I just learned by copying images from the interwebs instead of videos, and kept asking anyone I met who had a makeup style I liked. I arrived at goth makeup, mostly just because that is where my interests lie!

I loved the look of liquid liner so much, that I just practiced it a lot.

Idk I mask like all the time in public so I kinda want to git gud at eye makeup

I know practice is really the only answer but I still want there to be ONE WEIRD TRICK THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW or whatever lol

There are a lot of lil’ tricks to pick up for sure. I mask most of the time in public so mostly use gel for my upper eye, gel liner for the lower waterline(waterproof liquid can also work for this.) I also found a eyeshadow palette I love that is pretty simple from black moon, which does goth makeup.

For liquid liner, i recommend looking up images for your eye type(I had very hooded eyes until after ffs) and just copying their style until you get it right! Pointed q tips and eye makeup remover will also be your friend for erasures as well as tiny corrections.

Do you already have foundation and concealer that work for you?

                No kitty-cri

I'm nervous about asking someone at a store

Maybe I'll get a friend to go with me or something

Oh I get it! It is scary. I felt so vulnerable when I went into an ulta to get my first foundation and concealer. You only have to do it once! It is their job to help, and it doesn’t take very long. It makes such a difference when you have a proper foundation too! sicko-power
