It looks like the IDF was trying to cover this stuff up, but the police investigation is forcing some stuff out into the open anyway.

So those videos of helicopters attacking very likely includes civilians being massacred like we had suspected.
The most surprising aspect is that this is coming to light already.
I saw one (yesterday?) of someone riding a pushbike. Just gone in a puff of smoke. Even if they were a militant, a fucking pushbike?
when you get permission from the army to extend your peace festival
Aaron in TWP said it was like having a music festival next to a volcano
sorry not sorry but even if you are a civilian, you deserve anything that happens to you if you're partying next to auschwitz
Also "civilian" reservists and veterans of the occupying army lol
or just generic settlers, smol beans whomst got a free house stolen from the locals at gunpoint
I'd like to see a map of how much of the fighting was in the areas that even the UN considers to be illegally occupied by Israel.
that new film 'The Zone of Interest' seems like it's going to be very topical when it comes out in a few weeks
Personally I don't think Israeli civilians are any more blame-deserving than American/Canadian/Australian ones
Seriously, how did "not in the face" become a trope? Fuck my funeral, don't make me feel my organs shutting down.
I do think being 5+ generations removed from the occupation does dilute the guilt a bit
It's also like 10,000x the amount of land tho
Wow what a peaceful festival it must have been with armed soldiers, attack helicopters and next to the world's largest concentration camp.
Just the photo of the cars is evidence of Israeli choppers raining hell on a..checks notes...parking lot. Violently twisted metal doesn't happen from small arms fire. Cars that look like they've been falcon punched from above.
Same with a lot of the highway vehicles in other areas. I was still surprised people ate it up in the USA because the average American knows exactly what small arms fire does to a wide array of civilian vehicles (road rage, cops during pullovers) from watching the local news on their TV or being in the wrong place at wrong time. Bullet holes are very distinct on vehicles because they are round holes with paint blown off in a ring around each hole.
The IDF shocked a lot of western media consumers and politicians with the "savagery of Hamas" by posting footage of twisted minivans with dead families in them and took advantage of most people not picking up on some of that damage looking it was from an Apache gunships 30mm autocannon.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/30_mm_caliber
There is nothing Hamas was seen carrying that would have torn some of those highway vehicles up like that, they didn't have the shaped charge damage from an RPG or bullet holes from small arms but had twisted roofs, blown out windows, and passengers who were shredded. It was the same with some of the civilian vehicles filled with burned bodies, the vehicles had caught fire but some of the ones that didn't burn long enough to fully destroy the vehicle body looked like they got hit with a hellfire missile or cannon fire from above and not small arms fire from the ground. Liveleak users who watched all the fkd up Iraq/Afghanistan war videos back in the mid 2000s will know what I mean.
paraglide into Israel
see a bunch of hippies
they’re dancing to Chain Smokers
“Jamil, you told me the IDF was go-“
IDF helicopters opens fire on you and the hippies
get blamed for massacre
All other shit aside, the "rules of war" that the international community agrees on says that any person has a right to defend themselves from attackers in their own nation. The UN and the world recognizes Israel as a sovereign nation, of course.
However, any person (ANY person) who chooses to defend their (legal) home and picks up arms against the perceived invading force (Israelis vs Hamas militants here) goes from the designation of civilian ie illegal to kill (under the law) to a legal combatant at that time (thus legal to kill). It doesn't matter if they were an IDF veteran, a US military vet, never touched a gun in their lives, doesn't matter.
Per the law, for whatever it matters, and liberals proclaim to LOVE laws, if you are invaded and pick up a gun and defend yourself and are shot dead by the invaders you were a legal combatant for them to kill. If you do not pick up arms and are killed you were a civilian and it's a war crime to kill you. There are also laws regarding the detention of combatants vs civilians. It's legal to take POWs, but they must be treated in certain ways, all that stuff.
This was a bit of a tangent, but, people (Israelis mostly) seem to be under the impression of "but they were under attack and picked up a rifle and shot back! But they were a civilian!" No. It's either or.
Also, every single person killed by Israel inside of Gaza is a war crime under international law since it is illegal to kill people in an occupied territory. There isn't some exception for "but Kkkkhhhhamas!" It is legal, per the law, for them to kill and detain those who cross the legally recognized border but it is illegal to pursue them and kill them and especially obviously super duper illegal to indiscriminately carpet bomb highly populated areas, cut off water and food and medical supplies, etc.
Every single thing Israel has done since Oct 7 beyond killing the Hamas soldiers who were inside of Israel (as legally defined) has been a war crime varying from illegally killing militants in their (illegally) occupied territories of Gaza and West Bank all the way to bombing hospitals with no justification, starving civilians, bombing civilians, etc.
Even within the most purely liberalized, "international rule based law and order" scope of observation of the current conflict and even starting only on Oct 7, Israeli leadership, the IDF broadly, many of the civilian population, and media are all war criminals that should immediately be apprehended and put before the ICC to face justice. In addition, this includes foreign aiders and abetters to all of the above mentioned crimes which includes president Biden, VP Harris, the entirety of Congress (minus Tlaib (maybe a few others like Omar)), and any American media personalities who uncritically repeated Israeli lies without pushback or questions thus enabling the ethnic cleansing and genocide to continue. And also non-governmental persons and organizations such as the ADL (Greenblatt specifically), AIPAC (the entire thing), etc.
If there were any semblance of justice in this world all those directly implicated such as soldiers, their officers, and the entire Israeli government basically, would be hanged for the war crimes. The complicit leaders of the US and EU countries would face possible execution, but at the very least life in prison, no chance of parole ever. Complicit media figures would also face execution (the Nazi propagandist Julies Streicher (Der Stürmer) was hanged for his complicity in the Holocaust) or at the least life in prison. Others could receive appropriate sentencing relative to their involvement and complicity in crimes.
It's quite amazing to see liberals sitting around debating whatever dumb shit they talk about when it's all quite simple. War crimes were committed per the existing laws. Laws which, btw, the US and allies specifically made hard to violate for themselves and yet Israel managed to slam that bar into the fucking ground at every single step of the way.
This isn't even including the decades before Oct 7 and Israel's war crimes. Nor all the war crimes the US has committed and never faced a single bit of justice for.
(Also yes I'm of the "invasion of the Hague" act. Although it's quite literally insane to think the US would act on that, it also doesn't mean the US just gets away with war crimes forever. That's moronic. It also doesn't mean Israelis can't face prosecution since no such "law" exists there (maybe Bibi will push one through so he can be just like Daddy America))
Only way they could be more cop is if the helicopters executed some dogs on the way out.
Critical support to Israel in its war against Israel I guess
critical support for the pigs investigating war crimes i guess
Even that comparison falls short because Bush arguably just let saudi operators perform the attacks, here Israel opened fire on the festival attendees themselves. Total death cult shit.
Friendly fire is the "big reveal" (that they admit it, not that many of us didn't know) here, but this part I am finding confusing:
This assessment is backed up by bodycam footage of a terrorist asking a captured civilian where the "bad guys" are
I've also tried Google Translate, and it repeats the same kind of thing without the quotes. I really don't understand what they are trying to say here. "Terrorist" is obviously being used in Israel's voice. But I suppose "bad guys" isn't? What "bad guys" were the Palestinians fighters supposed to be asking for? Israeli police and IOF? Would they have used a term like (the equivalent) of "bad guys" to Israeli music festival attendees? Who would they have thought the Israelis would think were "bad guys"? Themselves? WTF?
Someone in the thread claims it's a mistranslation of Ra'im, the kibbutz they were actually trying to reach.
I kinda think its entirely likely that a gazan would think the israeli knew what he meant. Especially considering that he's probably never seen an israeli before.
Haaretz has been reporting on this for months but only in Hebrew. EG the Grayzone article cited Haaretz.
I did not find any mention of the it being rescheduled or moved in that article. This is all it has on the location and scheduling.
Gaster arrived on site at the festival event at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, with the party — which had started the night prior — meant to go until approximately 5 p.m. Saturday evening. An offshoot of the Paralello Universo festival brand started in Brazil nearly 20 years ago; the Israel event was called Supernova Sukkot Gathering after the Jewish holiday and was hosting several thousand attendees in a rural location near the Gaza Strip, with a lineup focused on the electronic psytrance genre.
Everything else is just a hero tale for Gaster.
They could have not known about it being extended since it was originally to end on that Friday with the operation starting Saturday.
I guess
Hamas had enough intel and planning to breach Israel's border defences but because they didn't spend a few hundred dollars on a psytrance festival ticket they missed the extension intel lol
what irony
Tbf I don't think they especially cared either way, and were more interested in IDF activity instead
I feel like knowing the concentration of people in the area where an operation will take place is really crucial info
Affects sightlines, bullet lines, paths, etc.
