She told people to vote for a racist, rapist and war criminal instead of the other racist, rapist and war criminal AND mocked the revolution along the way.

    Big lib moment

AND mocked the revolution along the way.

this sentence literally implies that there was a moment in our lifetime where communists in america had a serious chance of fighting/overthrowing the us government AND that natalie was critical of that coarse of action.

there was no such moment and natalie never criticized it because she was never under the illusion that there was.

the entire point of her video was to say let's stop living in lala land so that we as individuals/political organizations can stop getting in our own way and win.

The revolution the german guy with the beard talked about, also the bald russian one. You know, the thing that we, leftists, should be constructing.

Never quite understood why people care about this genre of overproduced, drawn out slop. I could read an essay for ten minutes or watch ten hours of Contrapoints or PhilosophyTube or whatever and the former would probably still impart more information.

For real, who the fuck is the demographic for this? Don't get me wrong, I used to watch Contra videos for a while, but it was back when her videos were less than half an hour long and the focus was more on content rather than aesthetic.
I don't think there's anything someone that's well read can gain from her videos and if someone's not well read, shouldn't they use breadtube-style videos as a stepping stone instead of using it as the world's worst intellectual crutch? It's not even a crutch, I'll go as far as saying it's a hindrance if one just stays watching these long ass, void of content videos instead of actually studying.

The only situations I can think of are 1) someone with no hobbies other than politics so they are fine wasting a few hours a week watching these types of videos 2) someone who really refuses to read and is the king/queen of radlibs

has she actually made an interesting video any time in the past 2 years? like not to knock it and all, I know she's got a lot of shit takes I disagree with but she clearly puts effort into her content. but the substance of it just feels so.... empty. it feels like philosophy tube took what she does, and then just did it better with actual politics and actual theory rather than the stuff Contra just waffles on about for 3 hours

Abigails has always been hiding her power level, but I feel exposure to Alice has definitely had a positive effect on her being more open.

I am more forgiving towards Lindsay Ellis because her videos are foremost about media, and she generally does a good job talking about something interesting. Contrapoints is foremost politics, and she vocally claims a more leftist position than her actions have earned, so I write her off. I do like her incel video condensed into 90 seconds, would highly recommend.

It’s a shame she took down the videos from early in her transition and before her transition. It was pretty good when it was dunking on chuds and what not

Before I invest almost two hours of my life can anybody confirm there's more to this video than her doing mental contortions about how ackshly it's ok she got rich? Because she already did one of those.

EDIT: I bit the bullet. It's not terrible but it's lib and it could easily be an hour shorter. At least it wasn't twitter drama.

I don't know if the videos she was making were she would self critic her past videos all went away when she removed all her older vids. But I do remember her talking about the character "Tabby" somewhere, and was shocked that people liked Tabby instead of viewing the character as a thing you were not supposed to want to be.

So I can imagine that there'd be some twisting to try to find some "central" position that she can defend without supporting a side.

IDK, what does she have to say about Huey P. Newton?

Actually, and this requires you to watch the video unfortunately, what moral value do you think she's ascribing to envy? What do you think her conclusion on it is?

Just gonna say it: Her videos aren't good. They have been getting steadily worse since she transitioned. Now they're just hours of (admittedly gorgeous) whining, usually about being cancelled on Twitter.

I don't think I can stomach a single drop more from this particular slop trough.

That's true, of course, and I didn't mean to imply that one was responsible for the other. I mean, I just started transitioning last week, and I only get more communist with every dose.

I suppose I just consider it a useful, visible demarcation. I apologize if it came across as insensitive.

It is interesting to think about how she's sort of changed the landscape as far as political content on YouTube goes. Her impact is undeniable - I doubt I'd be here if I hadn't consumed her early work, and I'm certainly not alone in that - but I do think she's well past her prime, unfortunately.

I vaguely recall someone close to her, perhaps Theryn, commenting on her subreddit and mentioning she had grown disenchanted with politics, and that she was really into I wanna say makeup or fashion YT?

This was a while back, so maybe that was just a passing flight of fancy. Still, I can't help but want her to move on to greener pastures.

...Even if only to put an end to her godawful takes and disperse her wretched fans.

I'm pretty sure she said outright in one of her videos (from at least a year ago) that she'd rather be a makeup YouTuber (Gigi Gorgeous I think) but her audience doesn't want that so she doesn't. I don't remember the specifics it was a while ago

Oh damn, I didn't realize she was that public about it. As is probably obvious, I haven't really sat through a full video of hers in a decent while. At any rate, I'm not shocked to hear it at all. Her interest and skill are apparent.

I really wish she'd give up on the politics and just do lavish one women productions of Restoration-era theatre or something. I'd be happier. She'd be happier. Her fans would still watch.

Even if you could argue she had no formal power (she did), she committed high treason. She literally wrote letters to her brother, while she was still a monarch saying "please invade and crush the rabble and restore us to our true power."

        Fucked around, found out.

Oh good god!!! Libs will never cease showing their fucking true faces when it comes to monarchs who they want to stan. She built a second mansion in her garden which she lived in most of the time cause she was stressed. The Petit Trianon was made as her personal space and intended to be as without contact between servant and guests as was possible. It is so obvious a display of her privileged bullshit. She and her husband went to escape to her father who had a fucking STANDING ARMY prepared to invade France. The Republic exists as a reaction to her blatant crimes against the people of France.

I am sick of libs trying to defend absolute monarchs by trying to use woke-language or progressivism for themselves and themselves alone. Like some monarchs lynching gays while secretly fucking dudes does not make them any less evil dammit. Marie Antoinette is not a girlboss

I miss the old Contra, straight from the Go Contra

Chop up the soul Contra, set on her goals Contra

I hate the new Contra, the bad mood Contra

The always rude Contra, spaz in the news Contra

I miss the sweet Contra, chop up the beats Contra

I gotta say, at that time I'd like to meet Contra

See, I invented Contra, it wasn't any Contras

And now I look and look around and there's so many Contras

I used to love Contra, I used to love Contra

I even had the pink polo, I thought I was Contra

What if Contra made a song about Contra

Called "I Miss The Old Contra"? Comrade, that'd be so Contra

That's all it was Contra, we still love Contra

And I love you like Contra loves Contra

    TLDR: TLDW
