Spent the first half of the month struggling with gatekeeping and doctor turnover in the middle of the holiday, but I got my hormones set for 3 months comfy

why are implants not more of a thing? you get some pellets embedded subcutaneously every 3-6 months, get really steady hormone levels for the entire duration, and don't have to think about it otherwise. I know they're more of a thing for trans guys but estrogen pellets are a thing for cis women going through menopause so it's not like they don't exist. but insurance won't cover them and it's hard to find doctors who will do them for trans women. death to cissexism.

the apothecary diaries isn't technically shoujo, but it's what all my shoujo friends are into these days

What gets me about voice training is that it seems to come so naturally for some people. I guess nobody tells you how long they've spent practicing, but it just feels like I have to work extra hard for awkward androgyny results.

the thing that worked best for me was to just use my andro-masc voice 24/7 while being anxious about not passing so I constantly forced it to be as good as possible. I stopped thinking about voice training and suddenly realized 1.5 years later that no one ever misgendered my voice anymore. ymmv

It's fucking hard, but you can do it! It's a long process, but the rewards are immense! It took me like 7 or 8 months to get to a passing voice and I'm still fine tuning it a year later (I still have trouble passing over the phone for some reason). Mind you that's with completely throwing away my old voice and never using it ever again and struggle bussing all the way here.

So do all the grey market estrogen sellers just do crypto now? I never learned how that works and I don't want to now. Last time I bought my anime meme estrogen the seller could still accept paypal.

God, I fucking wish she still took PayPal. The anime meme seller is only accepting crypto as of last spring/summer. It sucks, too, because her wallet is banned from CoinBase, so you have to use Binance to do the transfer, but Binance doesn't let you buy crypto with actual money. So it turns into this whole mess of having to by BTC via another service, wait for the holding period to expire, transfer it to Binance (and pay all the damn transaction fees, which really add up), and then pay from that crypto wallet. And yes, value often fluctuates wildly during that holding period, so you have to account for that along with the transfer fees.

It's really on-brand that the FTC slapped together a couple of ineffectual milquetoast crypto reforms (the waiting period and the Binance restrictions) and about the only ones being hurt are trans people.

If you just want oral or patches (or T-blockers), there's a Turkish pharma site listed on HRT [dot] coffee (note: the one whose fucking SSL cert isn't expired) that has worked for me in the past. Customs processing can take upwards of a fucking month, and the stuff is priced a little higher than average, but their payment processor takes regular credit or debit. Note: their payment process is sketchy as hell because it's through a third-party site and they send you the link a day or two after you make the purchase. There is absolutely some kind of obfuscation going on there, and if you have a credit card that lets you provide a virtual card number, I'd recommend doing that with an expiration period set on it just to be on the safe side. Again, though, I've ordered from them a couple of times and it has been fine other than the long customs delay and the lack of injectables. (Otokonoko still has the cheapest injectables beside OELabs, even with crypto fuckery factored in.)

Damn this is a nightmare. I fortunately have a stockpile of pills, they're just super inconvenient and I'd rather have a few extra vials instead. Fluctuating value, transaction fees, wait times... It seems crypto is just straight up worse at being money than money is?

I bought from the anime meme site last month and it honestly wasn't too difficult to get the payment done. Most people recommended using any of the options beside etherium or bitcoin. Since those blockchain are more busy, transactions are slower and can potentially have huge fees.

So apparently, the more popular your cryptocurrency is, the worse it functions as an actual currency. Genius system.

I haven't done almost anything with crypto in the past 5 years, but I did buy something off some libertarian on reddit with it like last year, can you not just buy crypto and send it to an address anymore on like a multitude of apps/sites? why binance? can't you just buy the crypto somewhere where she isn't banned and send it?

you make an account on an exchange, buy btc, then send it to the address the seller gives you for the order. buying btc can take awhile and the exchange will only let you buy a few hundred dollars worth in a day because of money laundering rules. they want you to send btc because payment processors won't let them stay merchants due to the whole selling drugs thing. iirc coinbase will let you use a credit/debit cards after an id check (obligatory reminder not to use crypto for anything genuinely illegal because it's not anonymous - estrogen is luckily gray market).

I know HRT affects everyone differently and I have to be patient but JUST TAKE ME ALREADY AHHHHHHHHH WHERES THE CHANGES

Also I've been so bad about voice training. I want to blame the fact that I'm hardly alone, but I should try and get over my fear/shyness and practice with my girlfriend. It's so hard tho I've always been so shy about things like this that I think are embarrassing. I'm even seeing a voice therapist... she's gonna be so disappointed when I tell her I haven't been actively practicing outside of my drive home.

...can you voice train while singing? Is that a thing?

It is so fucking hard to practice voicetraining. My voice feels "fake" and ridiculous to me but I know the only way to get it better is to practice. I'm also just practicing on my drives bur now I can do an OK voice in the car but once I leave the car I lose everything lol
