military guards are respectful of the civilians they serve
The comments for the brit video on :reddit-logo: were about how there were signs posted that they don't stop for anyone and if they were out of formation they could lose their jobs. Literally 'just following orders' shit for trampling a child while doing monarchy cosplay.
oh well then that's fine, I am sure they would accept the same excuse for a Chinese tank driver conspicuously (not) running someone over
If a hostile foreign power had armed protesters who were camping in front of Buckingham palace and were burning British soldiers alive, the tanks wouldn't have had to run over them as they would have filled them with bullets first.
American police bulldoze protestors that live less than a mile away from them. And that's the unarmed protestors...
Yes but that is different because it is a democratic freedom bulldozer.
My favorite part of that thread was where people were like, "Wow, so impressive how the guards stayed in sync while trampling that child. Such discipline!"
Damn, it's almost like literal children don't always pay attention.
the comments were revolting lol. Zero empathy for anyone that dirties the boots they have to lick
Queen's guard
People's Liberation Army
Tells you everything you need to know. I bet if that kid was a royal they wouldn't have gotten trampled.
:wojak-nooo: "MAKE WAY FOR THE QUEEN'S GUARDS"
:gigachad: "After you little comrades"
I can just imagine some british gammon defending the right video here.
"aye m8, that boi is a propa wanka for gettin in da way o' da troops! [turning redder and redder] R-RESPECT THE SOLDIERS YOU WANKA!! {frothing]"
you should read the reddit thread, it's pretty much Americans and Brits falling over themselves to respecta the monarchist customs.
you should read the reddit thread
Hahaha nooo thank you, I will take your word for it.
I'm surprised by the American veteran in the r/publicfreakouts thread being the one voice of reason.
Commenters on the Daily Mail wanted the guard to shoot the kid. I wanna end this comment with "lmao" but that doesn't feel right in this case.
I couldn't have made this up. Don't click this link: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10353195/Queens-Guardsman-flattens-child-stepped-path-Video.html?offset=8&max=100&jumpTo=comment-790906077#comment-790906077
Hahahah I thought "You have to kick children if they're in the way, it's the rules" was going to be the worst take.
Nope, they skip straight bemoaning that children these days don't respect the troops enough and should be kicked by soldiers more frequently, and "It'd be called racist if the kid was colored".
Comment link isn't working for me. Do you have a screenshot (much as I'm sure I'm going to regret asking)?
You're in luck, since I can't find the comment anymore. Might have been removed.
it is simply a matter of personal responsibility to not kick the shit out of children
Look up this story on British tabloids and read the comments. There are SEVERAL guys that are MUCH worse than he was describing.
Well of course. But what purpose does it serve to make one up to get mad at
Don't take your stupid job so seriously ffs. You're glorified cartoon characters at a theme park.
oh well that kid was black so
:us-foreign-policy:
spoiler
CHINA 100% HAN CHINESE IDEAL ETHNOSTATE ETC ETC
it's always funny to me how in the Horribly Oppressive Police State of China officers usually aren't even armed
hearing that bullshit from brazilians is especially :chefs-kiss: as the police here walks around even fucking parking lots with rifles in their hands
"in china military officials don't trample children" isn't really a high bar to cross but hey, at least the US and UK can't cross it :mao-clap:
Good catch, seems like one's got a pistol and the other has either a club or some sort of smg?
Technically Chinese cops can carry guns, but most of the time they’ll just use long poles to deal with people.
Not their total gear, but the poles are called “man catchers” and are pretty popular across east Asia
The entire concept of the "we don't stop marching" aesthetic is that it's such a blatant display of oppression.
"At least it's my King oppressing me, not those dirty French."
that and precision like that was what made you a good musketman
Listening to the War Nerd Civil War series has been wild. The numbers of men then sent up an open hill to be killed by cannons.
Yeah but the US civil war was especially bloody for a war at the time, partially as they had only recently started using automatic guns
Yeah, post Napoleonic Wars technology advancement is nuts - all the arms manufacturers were stoked by the AM Civil War.
Yeah, it's really low hanging fruit to compare the People's Republic to a republic of "people"
you call yourselves the queens guard but you're not guarding the royal mausoleum, curious
The queen has been dead for 200 years now. That doesnt stop her from moving around and giving speeches and sacrificing children to the Elder Ones ...
military guards are respectful of the civilians they serve
The Queen's Gaurds don't serve the people :marx-angry:
