Even his fanclub sub (/r/fivethirtyeight) is dragging him for this.
It's Reddit, of course there's a fanclub for statisticians who go way over their heads.
Neil Degrasse Tyson was openly worshipped on there and did an AMA years back before they all realized how he was just a fucking obnoxious pedant who's knowledge of science was greatly eclipsed by ego
He's an econ guy that did sports analytics, not really a statistician tbh, lol. Like econ students take a fair few stats and math courses in undergrad, but having done tutoring for econ PhD students to help with their comprehensive exams, I can tell you the understanding most (of their most talented students) walk away with tends to be pretty superficial.
That's funny lmao, I always assumed he was one based on how he passes himself off.
Also he apparently describes himself as being between a libertarian and liberal which is even funnier
Yesterday over half of the 250 schools in my region hit a 1 in 20 threshold for confirmed infections among students and teachers. That's up from just 11 the day before, and it's probably much higher because all of this is self reported and there is not a Spanish language portal for the reporting system. So yeah we are crippling an entire generation with long covid and trauma.
Just imagine olympians from the former United States regions attending in 15-20 years. We'll never seen gold or silver again.
fuck everyone who uses merit in this manner - warrant is the superior word choice in all regards.
They're sending my partner back to teaching in person next week. Two days of virtual this week. All ICU beds are gone in our city, presumably impacted by lack of availability around the state. Real excited for the find out part.
NATE: (in tears, half naked, entirely red) LET THEM HAVE THEIR HOMEWORK
Lol and today Dem lawmakers are shaking Dick Cheney's soulless hand on the Congressional floor. This country has the memory of a doorstop.
I really want to know if there's somebody doing the stats on teen pregnancies during the school closures... :thinking-about-it:
