I feel like this has been said about Windows before and yet they've found some pretty creative ways to make it worse.

They are gonna try to turn teams into discord except that your boss can see you are playing wow after calling in sick.

Teams' video meeting function isn't awful but they have to make it do a billion things at once like be a chat platform and calendar. Microshit is on some weapons grade salvia.

Cool! The way things are going now, Amazon will be the #1 provider for all things commerce and Microsoft and Disney will be the #1 provider for all things gaming and entertainment. Who will be the first private corporation to throw their hat into the ring that is housing?

But that's OK, because in socialism there's only one type of bread

      For real

People who got enraged over EA buying all the smaller developers and then shuttering them when they didn't sell billion dollar birthday games are cheering this on like it's any different

      ProTip: It ain't

Shit, on one hand I agree with this

But in principle I don't think a bunch of devs who are working towards unionizing should be fired

i mean the purchase is a bad thing for everyone that's not microsoft/activision management but at least if activision goes under after being bought by microsoft it's a net win for the rest of humanity (obv if activision workers manage to unionize that changes this)

it probably has completely fucked the unionization effort, but maybe one last big shot at PR spotlight will let them do something cool before it's over, considering the giant whirlwind of shit microsoft just purchased and will want to immediately start sweeping under the rug

It is different though. Microsoft killed those studios when they were legitimately terrified of anti-trust. In our current state of contradictions however there is literally no pretense of capital being restrained. Microsoft is also no longer the top dog in technology and afraid that facebook and valve will beat it in VR like it missed the boat on mobile (VR won't actually be a game changer like mobile but tech bros are convinced it will be).

I am kinda convinced there is some high ranking OG blizzard person sabotaging anything related to actual new warcraft/starcraft content to protect the franchises from the Activision/Blizzard merger.

It doesn't make sense to let countless on the most memorable / loved characters to sit around collecting dust.

Like they could attach Kerrigan and her already well established story to any remotely good game engine and it would instantly become a top seller.

Literally paying the discounted price because of all that sexual harassment. Now the same people will be rehabilitated and rebranded because they have a new owner. Some of them even get a nice payout. Hide abuse for years, it comes out, price goes down, get bought, get paid.

In the future all big budget movies will be Disneys, and all AAA games will be Microsofts. Or Xboxies.

Watching Blizzard slowly morph into Activision through out the years is :doomer:

Blizzard showing signs of life and releasing some cool shit throughout the years only to be pillaged with Activision policies / monetization has been :doomjak: .

Aren't minecrafters pretty okay with how Microsoft handles Minecraft ?

Maybe they will let Blizzard do their own thing. :bloomer:

Yeah Minecraft under microsoft has been pretty good. Seems like Mojang is able to do their own thing for the most part, and they still support Java even though bedrock is what makes the money.

I feel like supporting Java is due to many of the really big youtube people run Java. Minecraft would have never been anything without that community. It still heavily relies on them. I don't think microsoft wants to chance them moving on or just never moving on to new patches lol.

Either way it shows more willingness to work within the community more then anything Activision Blizzard has done.

Pretty much lol. I've been playing Blizzard games since Brood War and pretty much everything except WoW. It's been depressing - especially as someone who played mostly Heroes of the Storm for 6 years

Bringing Master Chief and Steve to HOTS/Hearthstone could be a small good part of the monopoly.
