    Lol I am a long time lurker. I’ve been banned before for dumb reasons (telling a mod that I refuse to read a book regardless of the subject matter was my personal favorite) but this time I just have to roll my eyes. Yes, Zizek is being edgy when he describes a country as raping another country. With that said, you numbskulls don’t seem to get that we sanitize the exact same rhetoric when we watch news that says borders are being “violated”. Violated is just fancy talk rape, let the guy who speaks four languages rant in a way that makes sense to him who gives a shit.

      Can someone point me to edgy Zizek post? With no prior knowledge it sounds like an instance of 1M deaths being a statistic b/c “Russia raping Ukraine” likely involves death and rape on a mass scale

        Just tried to find it, but the mods correctly ripped it off the site already.

        Zizek did that thing again where he gets fixated on an idea, has too much privilege to empathize with not being a shitfuck, and then violently shits the contents of an entire dumpster out onto a page and publishes it. The article actually made me lose respect for Zizek.

            Rape of Nanking involved... well... a lot of actual rape. Applying the language of rape outside of the context of sexual assault and sexual violence both weakens the language and is triggering for those who have survived such events. It also is almost only done by men, which is a whole thing Zizek could actually write a good essay on if he got over his weird shit and was more self aware.

            Slavoj pisses me off because I can tell he is smart and also he broadcasts how insecure and needy he is for everyone to know it. That frequently gets in the way of him being able to actually do interesting things and he frequently winds up shooting off ridiculously fucked takes. I could bully that out of him in like a weekend maybe idk I'd only do it if I had a gun and a lot of hallucinogens.
