Also have to say, slapping a millionaire across the face on live television & then winning the award for Best Actor is such a gigachad moment. It really does hurt to see someone else living your dream.

walk up on stage and slap the presenter
everybody laughs, thinks it's a bit
yell "Keep my wife's name out your fucking mouth" on live TV
host tries to play it off while everyone goes silent
    yell it again louder

yeah, the hit kinda sucked, but still pretty rad

you're not detecting any cultural differences between bald men and bald women?

women are likely to be 100 times more insecure about that and men are even insecure about it to begin with

Jada is suffering from an auto immune disease and that's why she lost hair. Will Smith is perfectly within his right to slap Chris Rock for that extremely tasteless joke. I would have punch him multiple times.

Oh, yeah, that's a good reason to be that upset then. If it was just a haircut choice then, it's tasteless and mean but not worth hitting someone about, that makes a big difference.

Difficult to tell really, I guess it depends on the motivation as it could equally be sticking up for a loved one which is a good thing to do - even if maybe clocking someone wasn't the best way to go about it.

It’s literally this lol. I mean I don’t care either way cause it was just funny and none of them will ever give a shit about what any of us think. But this is literally no different than starting school fights because someone said your mom was fat. Hell, many of the kids I knew would try to fight you if you simply said “your [family member]” before you could finish your sentence

This was definitely a thing at my school! Just saying someone's parents first name was taken as an insult. I didn't understand this at all when I transferred there so it washed over me.

Because he made a joke about her bald head? If anything it was Regina Hall’s joke that could be seen as ‘sexist’ because it implied Will’s wife had him on a leash lol

Was this at the beginning? Because all I’m seeing is him saying she looked like GI Jan. He made a joke about a different couple being nominated on the same night if that’s what you mean. I didn’t watch the whole thing so might’ve missed it. But even then he clearly didn’t slap him over jokes about her career

I replied before I really finished it. I just meant that sometimes people deserve to be hit for being shit heads with their "jokes"

And yes I believe this is one. Making jokes about someone's appearance on live television without being their best friend is pretty damn rude

I think that makes it really tasteless and rude but i don't see what slapping him accomplished. Chris Rock will probably be joking about this forever so it definitely won't stop the jokes

Libs on Twitter are being really serious about it. Some Washington media ghoul is like trying to make a story out of a joke that Jamal Bowman's social media intern made on his account, lol. Of course they all also want you to know that a slap is assault and battery.

This is the funniest thing about USAmericans to me. They're all supposedly very rugged individuals who would totally definitely fuck you up in hand to hand combat, but they'll also call 911 on you for looking at them wrong.

Chris rock is pretty shitty and should get called out more. Defending Louis CK, hosting the Oscar’s during the oscarssowhite boycott, consistently churning out some of the most anti-black comedy in the last 30 years.

And what does :reddit-logo: say? They love Rock of course, mostly insulting Will Smith for being c*cked by his wife in what is ostensibly an open marriage.

The :reddit-logo: position also seems to be "Chris Rock was hit for just doing his job!" and "Jada is a bad person so its ok to make fun of her for being bald." Annoying ass website.
