For me, it's Tehnoobshow, the guy who made Runescape machinima videos.

I'll claim the most shameful so far and admit that when I was 17-18 or so I was a fan of the "Amazing Atheist".

I once asked a coworker if he had an "atheist phase" but then he was like "I don't believe in religion" and I cringe about it to this day

I still don't believe in religion. You're tellling me that there's a literal Kingdom in the middle of Italy that is its own thing by virtue of a series of treaties going back over a thousand years? Gimme a break.

My only exposure to the Amazing Atheist I had were the leaked nude videos where he pours hot oil on his very small penis and shoves a banana up his butt.

I shouldn't have watched those because leaking videos like that of anyone is horrible but I admit I did laugh at those videos and showed them to my friends.

He recorded two videos, one where he pours hot oil on his dick while he's naked and one where he puts a banana up his butt. I don't know who they were for or how they got leaked but they used to be on Pornhub.

I bought the book he wrote " The alphabet of Manliness " and thought it was the funniest and coolest shit ever.

It truly and honestly warped my perceptions of masculinity because that's how stupid teenage boys are.

Especially once South Park started to lean heavily into social commentary. It doesn't help that a lot of dumbasses shaped a significant part of their world views based on it.

I don't think it made anyone a reactionary, but it definitely did shape how reactionaries turned out.

It was a very "people keep ANNOYING us by reminding us we were wrong so FINE we're sorry I GUESS" apology

That and the incredibly low quality and slurred "Ghurstbushters" intro screen made that video so good.

AVGN now seems to be just phoning it in. Can't say I blame him though, that's how he gets a steady source of income.

Early AVGN is kinda fun. The NES accessories episode is my favorite. Nostalgia Critic always seemed off to me.

AVGN and cinemassacre did a lot of film reviews that really helped me get into film, so I will always love him for that.

I remember I used to follow like twenty different creators on Channel Awesome, but once Red Letter Media started doing their shtick ten times better it became impossible to watch almost all of them, though a few like Lindsay Ellis evolved past the limitations of the Doug Walkerverse.

AVGN is one of the few from that era that I can go back to for nostalgia's sake even though his newer stuff isn't worth following. Along with problematic fave Spoony (who doesn't have newer stuff).

Dave Chappelle was hilarious, at least his first couple comedy specials.

Then he went away for a while and came back rich. And since rich people don't have problems they have to make up new problems, like trans people existing, or people not liking their jokes.

A lot of the music I liked back in the late 90s/early 2000s really sucked. I was into pop punk in middle school lol.

Lots of bad movies too. I know I'm not alone in thinking Boondock Saints was good as a kid then realizing it sucks years later. Had a similar experience with Blow.

It's not like the biggest piece of shit out there, but it's pretty lame. I just thought it rocked when I was 13 and watching it as an adult it does not do it for me.

    The Tom Green Show

We got it in Canada a few years before it came to MTV. He probably wasn't as provocative earlier, but a lot more avant-garde.

I can still get a laugh out of the old clips, but I've learned to never, ever show them to anybody. It's less about the material itself, and more how amazed I was that this sort of thing was actually on TV.

Archer, although maybe the new seasons just suck. I'm certainly not gonna rewatch the older ones to find out though.

Edit: By popular demand I will eventually rewatch seasons 1-4.
