The Mummy's a pretty fun movie. Haven't seen it in a few so it could be more problematic than I remember, but it was a good time.
I watched it recently, it's pretty problematic lol. Very racist against Egyptians, like basically lumping them in to the same category as camels. Also has the 90s vibe were just being American was enough to be cool
To add to the list: Oded Fehr is super handsome but he looks incredible in The Mummy with the long hair and the facial tattoos. Ooof. Hit me with the spray bottle or find me some smelling salts and a victorian fainting couch.
It’s been years, but I remember liking MonkeyBone. That might have only been because of the girl I was watching it with though…
:meow-melt: :flag-lesbian-pride:
Monkey Bone is a classic imo. Rose McGowan makes an excellent cat girl.
Encino Man, if only for the intersection of both Samwise Gamgee and The Weasel, buuuuuuuuuuuuddy.
Through problematic in depictions of indigenous people, I’m a sucker for the live action “Dudley Do Right.”
I cannot think of a more stark contrast than the way Mounties are portrayed in media and the way Mounties actually behave.
Looney Tunes: Back in Action. I'm sure that still holds up too, I love the old style of drawn characters and real people interacting.
hell yes, at least one other human has seen that movie other than me and my family. we had it on DVD and watched it all the time when the antennae wouldn't work (all the time)
Desperate to gain the affection of a beautiful co-worker, Elliot (Brendan Fraser) strikes a deal with the Devil (Elizabeth Hurley) -- a drop dead gorgeous woman with a wicked sense of humor. In exchange for Elliot's soul, she will grant him 7 wishes. But with each wish, he gets more than he asked for. Release date: October 20, 2000 (USA) Director: Harold Ramis
I somehow haven’t seen this, but I love the elevator pitch. Does it hold up?
No clue, haven't seen it since I was a kid. Kinda reluctant to rewatch it now and find out
Apparently he had a really, really bad couple of decades on top of just getting old.
i would say Mummy is my favorite but ya gotta give some respect to Blast From the Past, Airheads, and Journey to the Center
Brendan Fraser has never given me a reason to be embarassed for liking his movies, which is more than I can say about most celebrities. I still need to watch the new Doom Patrol from a few years ago.
Dude had a hard life and got old. Happens to everyone eventually, except Helen Mirren.
George of The Jungle was the first movie I ever sat through in its entirety in a theater.
