My favorite parts have got to be:

    • Re-legalizing company scrip
    • Claiming heterosexual marriage is what made Western civilization successful
    • Holding a referendum next year on secession
    • Withdrawing from the United Nations

Like yeah, I expected the trans genocide stuff but this stuff was pretty out of pocket!

lol I made this same comment a while back

if ANYONE at all has ever made any type of bioweapon, now would be the best time to release it on the US. Probably even the top brass wouldn't be able to detect it, if they're even interested in trying.

I think :thinky-felix: made the argument that if Texas got it's wish and became independent, the drug cartels in Mexico would immediately take over, since they are far better organized and armed than whatever would remain of the Texas population, and in some cases might even help the population a bit, since they have historically tried at least in small part to remain on good standing with the locals of the area they operate in.

Claiming heterosexual marriage is what made Western civilization successful

I wouldn't say this is true nor would I call it a good thing but there is a nugget of something there

Hetrosexual monogamy has been a highly effective system of control that keeps people divided while making it even harder for anyone in the lower classes escaping the economic class they are born into

It obviously wouldn't matter without capitalism or at least feudalism but it supports and preserves those systems by maintaining a status quo

Plenty of non-western places have heterosexual marriage as the norm and have not been “successful” in the sense that they haven’t conquered the world or looted it - such as African nations or Iran. Dominating the globe has little to do with heterosexual marriage and everything to do with the capitalist imperialist engine.

Cultural and ideological structures like marriage and family structures are part of the cultural superstructure. They are an effect, not a cause

Yes, I'm not trying to blame imperialism on enforced hetrosexual monogamy but there are ways that enforcing it made imperialism more palatable to imperial subjects in the core

When there is only one way to live your life, enforced by the church and the state, it becomes easier to accept arguments from the same church and state that we need to force that way of life on others even if the real reasons for the war and conquest are imperialism

Monogamy was mostly about the upper class families only having one legitimate heir who takes everything, thus building and maintaining intergenerational wealth. Despite having a single heir, ruling class families are otherwise organized the way a mafia family is

Polyamorous communal families, including queer ones would provide a direct challenge not only to the preserved status quo but also a potential material challenge to the wealthy families that have historically ruled throughout most of feudal, mercantile and capitalist history

2 peasants or serfs will remain poor together, 5 or more and you suddenly have options and opportunities that wouldn't exist under enforced monogamy. It's not a revolution but it's the kind of thinking that can easily evolve into revolutionary thought

Enforced hetrosexuality is mostly about making women into baby factories and raising those babies into soldiers in service of imperialism so that's another way this is related

Sorry I may have gotten too high and lost my own train of thought

holy FUCK the adoption law ideas are INSANE

Require a Guilty Verdict Before Placing Individuals in the Central Registry—currently an unsubstantiated accusation of abuse or neglect can lead to Texans being listed in a government database and cause them to lose jobs and other penalties without ever being found guilty by a court. In some cases, even those found innocent remain listed on the database. No Texan should be deprived of liberty or their right to earn a living without a fair hearing.

So to have a kid removed from your guardianship you have to be actually tried and found guilty??? Court cases can take years!!!! :agony-shivering:

ok, so youre telling me that the GOP in Texas is passing a law to help black and latino people and that the system wont disproportionately find black and latino people guilty in adoption court cases?

i was in cps custody for a small period of time due to malnutrition many years back, though that wasnt my parents fault. gender dysphoria is whack. definitely not rich though our family is very good at pooling resources communally

so youre saying the GOP is listening to leftist organizers on this issue?

I think it's more that there's a confluence of interests between the GOP trying to destroy all state records and single issue activists trying to correct a broken system. they'll only get so much traction with the GOP but we'd be fools to not to use their obsessive focus to yield some positive change, even if it's limited in its application. the liberal drives towards means-testing and illegalizing poverty find themselves squarely in the reactionary crosshairs from time to time, mostly accidentally.

More like the GOP is trying to burn down the entire state, and organizers are trying to redirect some energy towards the parts that actually deserve to be burned down. Kind of like using a snake to get rid of a rat problem. Sure, it doesn't really solve a lot in the long term, but it allows for a brief moment of reprieve in the short term. And in the long term, you will need to do an insane amount of work anyway, so this isn't really detracting from it.

Medical Students’ Religious Liberty: All persons have the right of conscience and should be protected under Texas law if they conscientiously object to participate in practices that conflict with their moral or religious beliefs. This includes, but is not limited to, abortion, including any requirement for a medical resident or physician to perform an elective abortion on an Opt Out basis instead of an Opt In basis, the prescription for and dispensing of drugs with abortifacient potential, human cloning, embryonic stem cell research, eugenic screenings, genetic engineering, euthanasia, assisted suicide, harmful futile procedures, vaccines, and the withdrawal of nutrition and hydration.

Typically before surgery (all of them? some of them? I dunno ask a doctor) you're supposed to fast. It'd probably fuck something up if you ate/drank beforehand.

they're just the segment of the bourgeoisie that realized none of this can last so if they destroy the system now they can try to hold onto their gains in little fiefdoms. also destroying the system simultaneously destroys the other half of their class, who they seem to hate even more than proles they want to enslave. I guess we're not human but they are? I look forward to showing them their mistake in excruciating detail.
