I work in local government, and that means I work with a lot of police who come by when on breaks or whatever. The other day one said something I'd never expect a cop to say, which was "I'm not completely sure if the violent crime we see more often now isn't part of a strategy of tension on behalf of the feds". I'm not a big conspiracy guy but that seems at least somewhat plausible
