What does “smoking weed every day” look like for most of that percentile? For me, I have a puff before bed to enjoy whatever activity I’m doing and to help me sleep. I’ve known a lot of people who wake and bake and keep smoking throughout the day. No idea how they even get high anymore

So wake n bake isn’t going to get you gone like it used to, but it has an advantage of letting you be comfortably numb and checked out the whole day while still functional and not obviously stoned. Great for boring ass jobs!

Oh hey, it's me before I stopped smoking

Recently went through that same transition, and it's a lot nicer. A puff before bed and then varying amounts on the weekends depending on how much I have to do. The high actually hits me now and I have sober brain for the important parts of the day.

It's no longer the same high at that point and also by smoking higher potency or concentrates.

Pretty sure I could smoke an entire joint and not be as high as you after your evening puff.

Even as I am I still feel like I blitzed my tolerance and I want to take a break for a bit. I would also often take a hit before daily workouts, which is a practice I CANNOT recommend enough. Concentrates btw, I’d like to go back to grass but my current living conditions mean I can’t be as loud as I’d like lol

hell yeah best part about moving back home during covid is access to my dad's homegym. Now I wake and bake before working out all the time. There was actually an article awhile ago about some olympic level athletes starting their day with weed and coffee before practice to have an easier time getting into the "flow" state of mind.

I've tried this before because I'll try anything to make exercise suck less. All it did for me is make me start questioning whether the other people at the gym were even real. To each their own I guess.

that sucks. for me it turns the treadmill into a more mindful almost meditative exercise like the closest thing to it would be really intense swimming i think or maybe water skiing and wakeborading

I’ve gotten really into the kinesthetics of my body while working out in an almost humorously novel way (you’ll know it if you’ve experienced it), and when the music goes on, I just kick into overdrive. This is honestly really vain, but sometimes when I’m really buzzing I waste time between sets admiring myself in the mirror lmao

I wonder if it has something to do with the strain ,like exercise works best with sativa or high CBD or something. Never sure how much strains are stoner pseudoscience.

Honestly strains are fucking weird and are something I need other perspectives on. I swear there is a difference between sativa and indica, both in terms of horticulture and physical effects, but I’ve heard that it is basically pseudoscience, perhaps placebo effect. I need to listen to more Narcotica, they seem to share that view.

I wake and bake on the weekends and I sometimes take a few puffs throughout the day on a slow workday. My goal usually isn't to get high - it's just to catch enough of a buzz to make things a little more interesting.

at my most routine, I was wake n bake at dawn and then again sometime between mid-day and dusk if it was the kind of day that would acommodate that. I used to say that I rarely got crazy high, but I did stay a little high most of the day.

similarly when I had a job I couldn't be high at, I would rip it as soon as I got home from work.

I'm not that guy anymore, but definitely some years between 19-30 were like that.

Yeah. I mean I looked at this comprehensive mental health treatment infrastructure, available and accessible to all people in the USA, and I says to myself, "you know, this is all real nice, having all of these specialists working to make sure that people are educated and empowered to make decisions about their own treatment. Now that all stigma around pain management and mental health have been replaced by programs that improve peoples lives, there's no barriers anymore to self actualization. I could be a productive member of society and reap the benefits of my production so as to improve my own life as well as the lives of those around me." But then I figured I could just go get high instead, so now I worship Satan and hate America

The hallucinogens one with the growing mental health crisis caused by capitalism is actually pretty scary. A lot of people are going to go off the deep end never to be seen again because they dosed incorrectly, took too much, ignored signs of existing mental illnesses that can have a bad interaction and took hallucinogens anyways, or did the Joe Rogan move of going straight to DMT.

Like don't get me wrong hallucinogens can be very useful, but they can also be misused easily if you don't know what you are doing.

Like that casually explained YouTuber took a ton of acid, uploaded some cryptic video, deleted it and has disappeared off of the face of the earth.

I know people irl that have just abandoned their entire life they built after they had some revelation on shrooms or acid.

At the same time I know people irl that have basically fixed their depression with hallucinogenic drugs, so all I'm saying is use responsibly if you're going to use. Understand the potential risks and benefits and make your own choice.

I don't have a medical card, but I've got a very similar relationship with drugs and weed was never my thing either. It turns out that it helps me keep my mood in check like nothing else, though. Anger in particular - I don't lash out when I'm stoned.

For anxiety, it really can go either way depending on what you're going through. I used to get panic attacks every time I smoked throughout my 20s, but I tried it again a few years back and it has the opposite effect these days. Vaping and edibles seem to have a much lower risk of inducing anxiety, in my experience.

For depression, it's a bit trickier to get the balance. If I smoke too much I get lazy, and that just makes the depression worse. If you get it right, it won't make the depression go away but the depression won't bother you as much. It's sort of like an opiate for psychic pain in that way. You still have to do the work, but the work feels much more engaging.

My ex had issues with weed giving them anxiety and just being too much over all but liked this one brand they found that’s basically “weed-lite”.

I guess the concentrations are a little lighter and it has some cbd in it so it gives you a pretty mellow easy going kind of high and it’s difficult to get to that lazy stage/extra depressed stage. I tried it once while visiting and it was pretty good, I also find if I over do it it tends to either Make be feel lazy or extra depressed.

Delta 8 is also great for that purpose, but you have to deal with the fact that it's unregulated and you really don't know what's in your pen for sure.

I self medicate with MJ. I would say YMMV. Unfortunately there aren't like treatment models , that im aware of, that you can follow so its a lot of experimentation IMO. I treat ADHD, and treating ADHD symptoms helps stave off depression. But working through depression with MJ, I've found can be tricky. It can help to like numb the symptoms which can be helpful if its the kind of depression that hurts inside. But the no energy depression can be sort of sustained by weed. For the low energy depression you might avoid indicas. Not an expert.

i was definitely self medicating for a while, though at the time i don't think i recognized it. if i had weed, it meant my living space was clean/organized, i was showing up to commitments on time / ready to go, and i was taking on creative projects in my free time.

if i didn't, i would just sort of get through my days as best i could and just try to avoid catastrophes.

so probably depression and some anxiety. the MJ would put me into a mindset of wanting to channel my anxious energy into something productive so i could feel better about relaxing later, if that makes sense.

as i settled into later adulthood, i would meet people who were supposedly "into" weed and like +90% of them were completely different. if they got high, they didn't do shit all day and just sank into the couch eating trash snacks. it was the rare weirdo who was like me, where if i was suddenly stoned at home and not having to entertain people, i was doing yoga, working out, organizing a toolshed, or deep cleaning the kitchen. and listening to sweet jams of course.

i've always lived in pretty severe prohibition states and it's difficult to imagine what my life would be like if i could just do my thing and not have the threat of prison, career destruction, and social stigma for it.... though i'm assuming it would have been more chill.

Hopefully it isn't done too much. I'm not really on board with the "smoke a ton all day every other hour" usage. I think like everything else, weed is good in moderation.

Growing your own shrooms is fairly easy and inexpensive, plus it takes up very little space. It's also legal to ship the spores in almost every state (I think 47 of them) because they do not contain any psychoactive compounds.

Reddit.com/r/unclebens for psilocybin, Cyb's Acid-to-base tek for crystalline DMT. Both are easy and cheap to supply yourself with.

Legal analogues like 1P are pretty easy to get online, and I find shrooms not too difficult to find because pretty much anyone can grow them with a bit of technique.

It helps that so many people go "sober, but I still take mushrooms a few times a year for clarity." These folks always seem to have a shroom grow that they don't mind sharing.

They are legit in my limited experience, but I haven't done independent laboratory analysis of the product, just tried it and read of others' experience with it. A close friend and an online friend who is a myco grow guy have ordered from them, and I've tried the 4-ho-met from them and it was very nice. Comes wonderfully packaged and arrives pretty darn quick. Seems like interception from customs is rare based on what i've read.
