Lol so it's a random civilian protecting himself and his house, and you have the right to point a gun at him? :amerikkka-clap:

Cops do, in fact, have to right to murder anyone at any time if they feel threatened in any way. In this Essay I will prove that rights are an empty liberal construct...

Honestly the navy's videogame SOCOM was the best of the propagames. You were given an objective, some intel like satellite photos, and had to come up with your own strategy.

SOCOM 2 departed from that and just became a COD linear hallway shooter.

SOCOM gave my dad the full Navy Seal experience, because he mistankely jumped into online play after playing like 1 mission, and didn't know how to do shit, so after 1 "round" or w/e, one of his teammates just turned around at the beginning of the next round and brained him point blank.

Legit watching Hasan stream it now lmfao. He just died and they had a fucking Frida Kahlo quote for the deathscreen and he completely missed it.

Nope. After you kill Solemeni, the next guy is named Hassan, and the first 4 times you track him down, it's just a laptop playing his stream.

Tracking him down entails both fighting cartels in Texas and blowing up an entire town in Mexico with an AC130.

They explicitly send PMCs to Mexico to "cut through the red tape and rules of engagement"

Wow, this feels... really fucking bleak. Just normalizing no-knock raids on people who are counter-cultural and using mercenaries to more cleanly wipe out a town full of civilians evil cartel goons who do not have families and just spend all their time murdering puppies and doing America Bad twitch streams. And selling this shit to teenagers, so they'll think it's totes poggers and finally respond to that Army recruiter who's been DMing them in Fortnite

You get a game over for blowing away a civilian during a no-knock raid? How unrealistic.

    • Frank [he/him, he/him]

The last time they did this you had to wait until the civilian pulled a gun or something out to defend themselves from your SAS/CIA death squad, then you could murder everyone in the house.

That mission was especially greasy because the devs were like "We never actually said that no knock special forces raids on apartment buildings are a good thing" except almost everyone in the building turns out to be a heavily armed terrorist and the raid prevents a dirty bomb attack so they kinda are saying that...

Such a based quote. It’s true after all. I wish my country wasn’t evil and had people I could look up to as heroes. It must be infuriating to have that and have avengers-land murder him and not even have a target to reciprocate against.

Pretty sure. Like you broke in to a house and then kill everyone inside, but if you kill the woman who pulls the knife too early you get penalized because you didn't give her the time to fully realize that her loved one was just slaughtered in front of her, all her friends are dead, and she has only seconds to protect herself from the same fate. You've got to let that all kick in before you kill her for maximum adrenochrome production in the brain stem.

No, this does actually happen semi-regularly, because people are confused from just having woken up and can't see the cops because the cop has an 11 billion candela flashlight on their gun. Also, people will often come to the door with a golf club or something and the cops will immediately murder them because they "had a weapon" without actually giving the victim any commands or any time to respond to commands.

It’s worse with context. You’re chasing an Iranian commander who was smuggled over the border. You’re Mexican special forces and outside your jurisdiction because THE MISSION LIVES ARE AT STAKE.

also one of the cod games made a mission that was obviously a reference to a well-known American War Crime from the Desert Storm era (highway of death) and then said Russians did it.

*fuck all CoD games past World at War

Feels like both Infinity Ward and Treyarch are trying to "repent" for criticizing Western interventionism and portraying the Red Army sympathetically respectively since those games. No other explanation.

I suppose the "pacify people by aiming a gun at them" is intended to work inconsistently in the game to have some "deep, morally grey" moments where the chuds get to go :soypoint-2:

But those cop "simulators" are rigged to have lethal force as the correct option because they're copaganda used by law enforcement to demonstrate to the media "how difficult these decisions really are", justifying cop narratives about killings and this is no different. I remember a :citations-needed: ep mentioning it but I can't recall which one.

swat 4 was very unrealistic because you got penalized for mowing people down without giving them a chance to surrender
