So crazy that getting killed by the opposition is a point in your favor.

It made me think of the Simpsons bit with Milhouse's dad bragging about sleeping in a racecar bed.

fascists love to back the losers after they lose.

Hahaha. glances despondently at the rotting corpse of the USSR while shedding a single tear That's totally just a fascist thing.

yeah, this is also the world in which communism lost. and i think the lesson for the as-yet-unformed real movement is that we cannot unburn the ashes of the old world, only build the new one.

For what it's worth, I think the fetishism of dead communisms is more of a detriment than a benefit to today's left.

        That first link is infuriating.

He then began to enjoy the good life just like the Tsars as illustrated by this photo taken at the May Day Red Army Parade in Moscow 1918!

Dude was a well documented workaholic to the detriment of his own health because of his commitment to the Revolution, but yeah this one photo of him being driven in a May Day parade proves that he just wanted to take toys from rich people and live it up.

the Soviet government passed one of its first acts ever, with the decree of 3 May 1918 that expropriated about 2,500 cars from the bourgeois members of society.

To give an historical perspective, this predates the October Revolution by about six months

          lol

They only think about socialism in bad faith so its not so much about their honest belief about what socialism is/should be, but that if they believe X they can strawman and slander socialist leaders like Lenin as hypocritical and grifters.

I think these people imagine themselves as trusted advisors and high functionaries coloured in about equal, yet separate parts, by historical fiction dramas and paradox games, because then they'd be appreciated and important at their job and it's the only way they see this stuff happening. But following that, all the intrigue, war and peace-making via boning of not-so-distant-relatives that comes with overlapping imperial claims seems pretty integral to the ideology.
