Incredible how they're hollowing out what little remains of the Democratic Party base. Like banning TikTok ffs. In 10 years they'll all be talking about how they were against Israel from the start.

Libs think that the Dems are the good party by definition and that it is everyone's job to vote for them. They will do whatever they want, then demand your vote. And it still works surprisingly often, probably greatly helped by the Republicans being such obvious crazies, whereas the libs are sometimes able to mask their crazy by politely talking about "believe in science", "social justice", "rules-based order" and stuff like that.

This shtick only works so long as enough libs are comfortable in life to tune out if day-to-day politics. Unfortunately for Dems their yuppie, middle income base is starting to feel the effects of imperialism at home. These types of crackdowns and bans aren't supposed to happen here. And people outside of that income/class bubble are dealing with so much BS right now that I can see this election having abysmal turnout.

We should be recruiting actively for whatever orgs we're in. People need to know alternatives exist before the fascists get to them.

I mean, these types of crackdowns and bans have been happening forever and they only made liberal institutions stronger as a response.

We should be recruiting actively for whatever orgs we're in. People need to know alternatives exist before the fascists get to them.

I'm not optimistic, because the left always gets attacked by the liberal/conservative institutions and the fascists (who are just an outgrowth of liberal/conservative ideologies to begin with) have a big advantage. Right now, a bill is advancing through Congress that would allow the US to ban any non-profits whenever they felt like it - https://twitter.com/LaraFriedmanDC/status/1783130245421281340

In 10 years they'll all be talking about how they were against Israel from the start.

10 years after Trump´dies they'll be ready to rehabilitate him, they'll talk about how he was funny but because he was stupid he wasn't nearly as bad as [insert current GOP fascist here] and obviously [insert current election here] is the most important ever etc.

You think they'll wait for him to even die before they start rehabilitating?

Yeah I think it'll take that long. It didn't take that long for GW Bush, but he just flubbed his speeches sometimes. Trump lacked any decorum at all and made the office of the president look foolish.

(Obviously the fact that GW Bush was a mass murderer and Trump used the campaign trail to encourage hate crimes don't matter for this.)

Making the office of the president look foolish is a sliding scale, and I feel like you're kinda underselling W's foolishness. Libs were like going on vacations and apologizing to strangers on his behalf. It was a big deal at the time.

(Obviously libs don't care and have never cared about the actual heinous shit presidents do)

Yeah people should keep in mind, this is how liberals feel about you. They will humor you as long as they think they can get something from you, but this is the response to a challenge from their left that they always have in the back of their minds.

        Damn. Well put.

As soon as I read this it immediately washed over me all the interactions I've had with Libs (and friends) how they just resort to you being some sort of authoritarian psycho.

Bet he also likes to tell people that if Trump wins he'll send the Gestapo to murder all his opponents and critics like libs love to fantasize when vote shaming people.

Anti-imperialist pro-Palestine protestors are Trump voters, hexbear users are Trump supporters, Russia and China support Trump. The line between conspiracy theorist libs and MAGAcommunists is a thin one.

This is your reminder that liberals, even ones that claim to be "progressive," hate leftists at least as much as reactionaries, if not more.

Maybe? The shows from back then were always so interchangable I honestly couldn't tell you. I know he bounced around between a bunch of different shows on the network over the years.

His career fizzled out in the early 2010's when the network died, but he tried to make another go at being a personality again in the last few years. It's possible you could have heard about him then because he always toed the line for what's acceptable edgy gamer humor and had a tendency to be talked about. Either way, he's not relevant anymore and clearly an out of touch asshole. You're not missing anything.
