The only movie I've ever walked away from angry was The Hobbit. I think my hatred of that film was amplified by how I was working six day weeks and I had spent a big chunk of my one day off going to see it. Never saw the other two but they look awful, such a shame considering that LotR is the greatest trilogy of all time.
The Desolation of Smaug was worse than the first Hobbit movie. I remember the collective muttered "what the fuck?" that both I and numerous people around me said roughly at the same time when credits rolled after that stupid video game gold statue sequence. Also, making Smaug into some 2smart4u Benedict Cumberbatch bazinga cliche was fucking stupid.
I fell asleep in the theater for one of the Hobbit movies. also the 60 fps or w/e made me sick.
Dark Knight Rises is pretty fucking horrible. Has a massive cast of great actors who barely have any screen time and deliver cringey dogshit lines. The fighting choreography is pretty horrendous, there’s nothing creative it’s just guys throwing generic punches. Things just happen with no explanation or respect to time. Batman does not grow as a character or develop at all, he’s static the entire movie. The cinematography relies on a motif of realism, but the writing goes against this at every possible turn.
Not to mention the whole thing with societal change being a threat to wealth, therefore bad.
Only movie I’ve ever walked out on, and after watching it all the way through with friends later it’s the only movie I flat out refuse to watch.

obviously nolan is an old tory and the movie's politics are "bad", but Rises is probably the only thematically interesting of the three.

Holy fuck if you want to absolutely hate looking at Zooey Deschanel's face, watch The Happening. They keep zooming in and it's so weird! It's so fucking weird!
And you've heard the plot is stupid and bad, and one of the big stupid things is it's a movie about the wind directed by someone who apparently has never been outside ever - like the wind comes toward them step by step blowing 90 degrees away from them and you see the blowing grass getting closer. And they run away from it...

There is a very short series of shots where Marky Mark reacts to something a train conductor says, and I swear to God they shot 3 takes of Mark ad-libbing his reaction, and then just put all 3 takes in sequence next to each other. Just one after the other. Like these were 3 complete reactions, starting with hearing it and then reacting and then falling quiet.
It was something like " What do you mean!!... ... ... ...What?? No!!... ... ... ... Gasp! No! That's terrible!"
I felt like I was having a stroke, and I'm not even sure if I can trust my own brain. But I remember it.
Hulu splashed The Happening on its home screen when I loaded it up last night. Seeing it advertised to confidently was so absurd I would have laughed out loud if I wasn't high as shit

The Hobbit trilogy were the most egregiously bad films I've seen. Stupid love triangle, random inclusions of characters, dragged out way too long, shitty CGI, etc etc. I don't need to dunk on the Hobbit, we all know it's bad, but coming from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, my favorite movies ever, they're so fucking sad. You can see the start of Jackson's downfall in Return of the King with the heavy use of CGI and Legolas flipping up an elephant and killing it in five seconds, but that's nothing compared to the shitfest that is the hobbit
The most cringe movie I've seen is Ready Player One. The plot is stupid and the references are just "look, it's master chief! Look it's overwatch! Look it's Gundam! You must like our movie now!"
It's called "The Tolkien Edit" and it improves the movie (it's all one 4 hour movie) tremendously. I totally forgot that elf chick even existed until there was one scene where they couldn't avoid showing her.
It's like "The Phantom Edit" where someone went through and improved The Phantom Menace. Jar-Jar gets about two lines before being reduced to a character that stands around in the background for seemingly no reason.
There are more edits , probably a nice hobby for aspiring directors. The "Tolkien edit" is probably the most famous but was apparently made with great haste.

Stephen king story that got made into a miniseries that got transformed into a single 3 hour long TV movie for some reason. This is back in the days when I still considered flipping through broadcast channels to see what's on a valid use of time. No TV guide channel or anything, so I did NOT realize I was sitting down for a 4.5 hour (thanks, commercials!) viewing of pure garbage.
It got its hooks into me and my friends early, and was hours of agonizing tension leading up to the dumbest letdown ever: these shitty CGI bastards are eating time itself.
It wasted an entire day of my life that I will never get back.

This is only a viable reason to like something if the creator is actually trying hard to make something they think is good/genius. You can appreciate their strange perspective and be entertained by unusual antics and poor craftsmanship.
When the film is intentionally bad then it’s lost any artistic merit or interest from me. Why should I bother watching something even the creator doesn’t believe in or like? I’m supposed to be entertained by their cynicism and meta-ironic lack of interest? Maybe the first time but that shtick gets old fast and we are still in want of a good story
no the samurai jack Clone Wars are great, the 3d cgi show is... i don't like it but other people do whatever, and the latter launched with this godawful movie in theaters in like 2008 or early 2009.
