He's completely correct if you understand ym that for people like him, "muslim" is a proxy for "brown person".
I have always liked the idea that Jesus was a Buddhist
Lol why the hell not, factually wrong on all accounts but less dumb than white washing them. Except for Socrates, the are some pretty white greeks.
Hear me out, zero people remembered in history were white. The Queen of England? Indian. Julius Caesar? Chinese. Christopher Columbus? Sioux, ironically.
White people don't actually exist, they were made up by Big Honky to sell more Journey albums.
Is that who we ping now for tagline suggestions? I've been pinging WhyEssEff like a dingus

One time my dad and I went to an Asian exhibit at a local museum and we absolutely soyfaced at the Torah case with Korean and Hebrew on it.
Laughs in that one gospel the ottomans wrote that claimed this.
Dave is a rum sort - he was on Fox the other day shrieking about the latest Sims 4 update that added top surgery scars and some other character customisation things. The disconnect was incredible. Like, motherfucker, you're dancing for the exact same people who would happily film you and your man being dragged behind a car and call it entertainment.
We need a term for "i'm one of the good ones" syndrome. Something snappy.
Thomas Sowell went 60 years without being lynched.
So much of the modern bigot landscape is getting the Token Person to denounce their cohort. Find a teenager to denounce the young. Find a woman to denounce other women. Find some LGBT folks to Log Cabin or detransition or whatever you need to do to grift the Chuds.
Rubin will be fine.
"b-but i'm one of the good ones! you don't understand, i'm not like those subhuman [redacted], i wear a suit! I WEAR A SUIT!" - the last words david rubin ever speaks
A lot of people are, maybe even most. They usually aren't as arrogantly confident about it.
Source: I work in higher ed. I met someone with Masters Degrees who thought Alexander the Great and the Prophet Muhammad were contemporaries. I could give other similar examples.
i am going to pretend the master's was like some STEM b.s., because my MS is in STEM and the ignorance of the arts and broad strokes history is characteristic.
but my fear is that person was an MA in like the classics and i can't reconcile that with it only being tuesday.
MS in Education, they were an art teacher. We were talking about art history, which is how Muhammad and Alexander came up.
Teaching elementary school art, a teacher probably doesn't need to have the best grasp of history. But it was still pretty shocking since these are two of the biggest figures in the western history. It's not like some western educated person not knowing that Cao Cao predates Kublai Khan or whatever.
I don't think there's anything wrong with not knowing those kinds of things, as long as you're not justifying horrible actions or speaking from a position of authority justified in your ignorance.
That's the average person. A lot of people wouldn't need to know this because they don't come from an abrahamic background, and lots of the places with it don't teach history well.
I once won 5 bucks in a bet because a dude didn't believe me that Christianity was older than Islam
I once got screamed off my college floor by weirdos after calmly telling them that the Muslim God was the same as the Christian God
That sucks, you'd think by college god-botherers would have a little more education under their belts. I learned that shit in like 6th grade. I was obsessed with the Crusades and I was like "why are they fighting each other for the same god?"
If you really want to bake their noodle tell them that Jesus and Mary are in the Koran and that Jesus was the penultimate prophet in Islam.

As many an unfortunate Jehova's Witness have found out after knocking on the door of my mother in law, elderly muslim women fucking LOVE talking about Jesus and Mary.
Maybe Islam and Catholicism, but Protestants only worship themselves.

the checks will keep coming as long as what he says doesn't make the surviving Koch mad
Now that we're here, what the fuck were the Romans doing so far into the middle east? Or where was Jesus? Do you think Jesus and Cleopatra fucked? Was he around a bunch of Muslims?
Jesus was in modern Palestine/Israel which is on the Mediterranean, the Roman Empire covered pretty much the entire Mediterranean coast and then some.
That's right, I knew that! Thank you. I was having a moment. I'm also struggling at work right now. My critical thinking is at 30%
Edit: also just checked, Cleopatra died like 30 years before Jesus was born.
