Oh isn’t it funny to see your favorite pop culture icons all hot wearing gaudy clothes talking about how much they love balenciaga? Peter Griffon loves balenciaga, Harry Potter loves balenciaga, Tony Soprano loves balenciaga. These memes really make me forget about the time a few months back when balenciaga got shit for sexualizing minors in their ads, or the time kanye went “death con” on the jews wearing balenciaga on the Alex jones show. Before that time the only luxury fashion brand I could name was probably Gucci and I wouldn’t buy that shit because only sheep wear designer clothing. I’m not jealous that you can afford it, I’m contemplating assaulting or robbing you for wearing it. Do I even need to mention how bad the material conditions are for the people who make these clothes? I don’t even need to look anything up to guess that it’s probably poor disadvantaged women and kids from third world countries making these shitty god awful expensive clothes. High fashion is a disgrace to the human race, I’ll stick to my blue jeans and flannel because I want to fit in. Balenciaga, bad things should happen to you if you wear it.

its something that got popular and because we as a society cant just enjoy something and move on people are making lazy copies of it and running the magic into the ground

it’s possible ballenciaga is behind it in some way but i think its more likely that people are just copying it

it’s possible ballenciaga is behind it

"Can we use Harry Potter in our ad campaign?"

"No, you would have to pay us $500,000,000."

Does it with AI, without paying any licensing fees, pays $5,000 to have memes boosted on social media.

Don Draper, you son of a bitch, you've done it again.

I’ll be honest I don’t really know what balenciaga is. I know it has something to do with fashion but that’s it. Is it a designer? A brand? An event? A magazine? I have no idea and I do not want to learn.

Making products for these high fashion houses is supposed to be decent work, made in Italy and France, but I haven't really critically examined it.

And I 100% agree this shit is astroturfed. I've never heard of Balenciaga before the pedo scandal, and my friends had never heard of them until this AI meme.

Gonna be honest I thought that was the name of an AI model. But yes fuck the fashion industry.

i'm sorry but if you have a shoe that costs a thousand dollars i'm not ur friend unless that shoe is some kind of medical device

A medical device should not cost a thousand dollars. There is no excuse for footwear that costs more than $300, and that's for a high end specialist work boot or maybe ski boots.

I don't know how I feel about it because cheap goods are provisioned to westerners on the basis of very poorly paid workers in thr global south, like fast fashion crap. And then it's not like any of the logistics or retail workers are getting any cut of the higher prices from better paid unionized shoemaker (or whatever) anyway... damn if only we could have a revolutionary overhaul of the global economics system in order to give everybody what they need.
