Sure I may be starving and lost my healthcare but at least I never need to see a cute boy in a skirt ever again.
Indoctrination is when the government tells you that it has done some things wrong before.
We may all have differing opinions on Noam Chomsky, but he really hit it out of the park with Manufacturing Consent.
He totally did, and that book is excellent as an intro for libs to start possibly understanding why they're so indoctrinated, so long as they're willing to read something pretty dry. But keep in mind, Chomsky was a co-author of the book (Herman never gets due credit), and Michael Parenti's Inventing Reality is a much more entertaining (and arguably better) discussion of the topic that doesn't have the little sprinklings of anti-communism that MC has.
:soviet-bottom:
(just to be clear I meant Manufacturing Consent)
Yeah, very clearly trying to ignore that social security cuts are deeply unpopular, even within the GOP, by picking an issue they're more fired up about at the moment. :citations-needed:
The funny part is that it's clearly because there's at least some big money support behind meatball Ron, and he's currently the anti-woke but pro social security cuts guy.
Does DeSantis actually have a shot at the nomination, or is the media just trying to push a non Trump candidate?
He would have a shot except he is a massive loser that acts and sounds like a loser. Trump is going to eat him for breakfast before the primaries even start
He seems more competent politically, so the fact that he fails at the spectacle in a game entirely dedicated to spectacle is promising.
Yeah I’ve been strong on the side of “DeSantis is dangerous and likely to win” but dude has such loser energy idk anymore
“That’s sugar man!” like come on dude that’s not what your hogs want to hear! And then when he was asked about Trump beating him in polls and he gave such a sniveling whiny answer.
I think having people ask that question is part of the ratings game
Even then, idk if DeSantis comes out on top. He's got that Ted Cruz vibe of a guy who everyone outside his locale hates. How does DeSantis win in states like California and New York? How does he win in the more libertarian-leaning states like New Hampshire and Nevada?
Hell, how is he going to perform in his home state of Florida now that he's pissed off the state's biggest commercial enterprise?
Why would the GOP stop social security cuts? Isn't cutting social security an explicit goal of theirs? Is that the point? I hate this so much.
“Cutting” social security is deeply unpopular with anyone who works for a living. But “increasing social security efficiency through free market reforms for working class Americans” is extremely popular with conservative voters. It’s all about the framing :think-mark:
It's unpopular with their base. It's on the party agenda and has been for a while, but it's so deeply unpopular across the political spectrum that they've never dared touch it, well at least not directly. They'll do their best to make social security unviable through indirect means, but cutting it will probably lead to worse outcomes than even overturning Roe did.
Why would the elderly worry about something they already have
I feel the purpose of this poll is to go :wojak-nooo: DeSantis isn't losing to Trump, see the GOP actually hates woke more than they hate Social Security cuts!! But, Trump is, at least superficially, the face of anti-woke anti-cuts to social security, which is why this primary isn't going to be much different from 2016.
What do they think is the endgame of "woke ideology" that has them so paranoid? Forced gender reassignment? Enslavement of whites? Or is it just too much to ask them to stop being an asshole to those who were marginalized by the status quo?
The empire is falling and those who benefit from empire would rather plug their ears and kick dirt at minorities than actually recognize that you might actually have to treat people as equals.
Interesting that the token not-mayos are in the pic but none are in the front row.
