Harambe was the key. With this ape's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world that the Cincinnati Zoo has created.

My friend's ex-wife stares at the sun because there's a conspiracy telling us not to stare into the sun and she's going to get to the bottom of it by unlocking her piss chakra or whatever. When they were together I told him he needed to put a parental lock on youtube to keep her from absorbing all of this weird shit that she almost universally believes. Also thinks that the only deaths from the Holocaust are from like typhus fever, and that there are child slave colonies on Mars.

there are child slave colonies on Mars.

What happens to the children when they get older? Do they become "adult slaves"? Or is it a Logan's Run situation?

When I was a little kid my mother told me not to stare into the sun, so once when I was six, I did. At first the brightness was overwhelming, but I had seen that before. I kept looking, forcing myself not to blink, and then the brightness began to dissolve. My pupils shrunk to pinholes and everything came into focus and for a moment I understood.

The conspiracy stuff came later when she was a stay at home mom with way too much time on her hands. They dated for a few months and then he got her pregnant because she's aggressively Catholic and doesn't believe in birth control. Then they split up but got back together and had another kid.

I've commented to him once or twice that every woman he's been with has been fucking insane and he claimed he had no control over the process.

The sun was the first eldritch horror. It's been there forever and will be there after humanity will die, If you look at it for too long you will go blind, and if it looks at you for too long your skin starts burning

Surrounded by the corpses of its children who failed to mature but dance endlessly and silently with perfect geometric precision.

We depend utterly on it for life yet it is completely unaware of our existence.

It never, ever stops looking at us.

And pro tip but sunburn can get BAD. Like 8 hours in the sun on a kayak and the next day my skin bubbled up like golf ball sized blisters. Couldn't walk due to pressure in my knees from lymphatic fluid from the scale of tissue damage

I couldn't sweat for like 5 years and tbh that was great, I ffucking hate getting sweaty. But now i'll probably die of skin cancer and I get sweaty again hahaha hahhhh

I fully believe that most kids would benefit greatful from a visual rhetoric 101 class. Just to get an idea of how montage works, of how lenses react to light, how subjective a shot can be, and how editing can be used to change how something feels.

can't trick me that easy man I know the fae lore better than that. The fae wouldn't return a human child they keep them as slaves and to sacrifice to the devil in exchange for their continued immortality

The stories vary and there’s not even a consensus among them what a changeling is. Is it one of the fae pretending to be a human to gain access to human milk? Is it a fae child who is raised as a human unknowingly? Will that fae child discover their proclivities as they grow? Is a changeling a construct which will whither and die, leaving a rotten bulb in the crib? All of these stories are told.

As for the babies who are taken away, what happens to them. Are they lifelong servants? Are they given to the devil like you mentioned? Are they taken away and pampered for all their days? Are they raised until they are adolescents and then tortured to death for fun? All of these stories are told, too.

Even if humans were able to tell a consistent story about the fae, I don’t think it would last long. It would simply be too fun to step in and make the story diverge again.

Oh, absolutely. The amount of disabled children who were tortured and murdered over the tales is harrowing. Although in some areas, mothers were told that being kind to the changeling would get you your child back. Always sounded like regression to me.

They knew the world was round (like a ball) and savoured every bit of science they could learn from the textbooks that might filter their way out of the private academies and into their hands.
