Gamers: "I HATE CHINESE, REGION LOCK CHINA THEY ALL CHEAT."

China: "We will make our own gaming ecosystem."

Gamers: Incoherent screaming, pissing and shitting

Holy fuck I’m sick of seeing this guy everywhere. People keep posting his shit and saying, “wow this guy gets it! An American who doesn’t fall for the woke agenda!”

Clear your YouTube watch history, watch one gaming or gaming-adjacent video, then Asmongold will be 50% of your topic recommendations

Edit: don't even really need to clear watch history, I got him on the front page reccos after watching one StarCraft vid a friend shared, and I don't watch any game stuff on that browser (at work) I just listen to music and china stuff

Saw his Elden Ring build yesterday and it was fucking disgusting. On top of being a gamerboy fascist who only cares about treats.

It's the WoW YouTuber to Right Wing Grifter pipeline

Asmongold: Makes WoW tutorials on YouTube > anti woke reaction grifter

Athene: Makes WoW tutorials on YouTube > head of a secluded misogynist cult

I genuinely don't know who this guy is or know anyone irl who knows who this guy is. Just touch grass. Or stop hanging out with people who play video games. It's been great for my mental health. Gamers are always going to be chuds, even in China. There's something inherently antisocial about gaming.

Chinese games are adhering to Sturgeon's law too unfortunately. Main problem for the Chinese indies are lack of translations, presumably because they are indies, but if state's going to drop some funds there improving this situation would be welcome.

I think that the Chinese gaming industry is currently in a "Slavjank" phase where they have fresh ideas and ambitious concepts but are held back by lack of experience and polish.

Possibly (i really just want them to churn out turn based wuxia and xianxia games and those are maddeningly often untranslated).

If you like Slay the Spire, Yao Guai Hunter is just like that but with better mechanics, better characters, better graphics, better replayability but sadly much less mods.

Holy shit it's literally Chinese Slay the Spire

I had a lot of fun with Outpost Infinity Siege, but I never figured out if the Devs were from the PRC or the ROC

I love the "low social credit score means you can't ride high speed train."

Like yeah damn, forcing someone to travel as an American does does sound pretty inhumane.

I like how china’s investment strategy is “just own a bunch of shares in popular western studios and IPs, then just let them do whatever.” Then westerners feel compelled to start pandering to Chinese audiences even though the Chinese investors are just interested in making money with existing services, and the updates and subsequent games become dogshit and Chinese investors feel compelled to step in and show them how to correctly pander, which leads to Assmold type streamers to soyface about China

one of the reason that cloning happens is because china has very strict laws on what can be depicted in games, no nudity, blood, death, etc. so a lot of these chinese-local games are simply filling in the gaps of western games that will never release there to begin with
