Gamers: "I HATE CHINESE, REGION LOCK CHINA THEY ALL CHEAT."

China: "We will make our own gaming ecosystem."

Gamers: Incoherent screaming, pissing and shitting

Chinese games are adhering to Sturgeon's law too unfortunately. Main problem for the Chinese indies are lack of translations, presumably because they are indies, but if state's going to drop some funds there improving this situation would be welcome.

I think that the Chinese gaming industry is currently in a "Slavjank" phase where they have fresh ideas and ambitious concepts but are held back by lack of experience and polish.

Possibly (i really just want them to churn out turn based wuxia and xianxia games and those are maddeningly often untranslated).

If you like Slay the Spire, Yao Guai Hunter is just like that but with better mechanics, better characters, better graphics, better replayability but sadly much less mods.

I love the "low social credit score means you can't ride high speed train."

Like yeah damn, forcing someone to travel as an American does does sound pretty inhumane.

Clear your YouTube watch history, watch one gaming or gaming-adjacent video, then Asmongold will be 50% of your topic recommendations

Edit: don't even really need to clear watch history, I got him on the front page reccos after watching one StarCraft vid a friend shared, and I don't watch any game stuff on that browser (at work) I just listen to music and china stuff

I genuinely don't know who this guy is or know anyone irl who knows who this guy is. Just touch grass. Or stop hanging out with people who play video games. It's been great for my mental health. Gamers are always going to be chuds, even in China. There's something inherently antisocial about gaming.

I like how china’s investment strategy is “just own a bunch of shares in popular western studios and IPs, then just let them do whatever.” Then westerners feel compelled to start pandering to Chinese audiences even though the Chinese investors are just interested in making money with existing services, and the updates and subsequent games become dogshit and Chinese investors feel compelled to step in and show them how to correctly pander, which leads to Assmold type streamers to soyface about China

one of the reason that cloning happens is because china has very strict laws on what can be depicted in games, no nudity, blood, death, etc. so a lot of these chinese-local games are simply filling in the gaps of western games that will never release there to begin with

Can China clone a controller with hall effect sticks and decent build quality because the build quality of controllers PS4/XB1/Switch and up has been noticeably worse.

Other than the N64 controller I don't think I've regularly had issues with a first-party controller until nowadays. I recently had to fix a bad solder on a PS2 controller because its rumble was cutting out but that's about it. PS3 control sticks would be filled to dust because of the plastic stick being sawed through by the controller body and still work while my lightly used XB1 controller I only used for PC got wicked drift after a couple years, PS4 controller on my used PS4 slim I got had to be replaced, and my Switch left joycon developed drift (and I replaced it with some hall effect sticks so should never happen again).

Oh, I had to fix a Sega Saturn 3D pad's left trigger button because the magnet it had inside it (even had hall effect triggers) had fallen out somehow.

Ever since my Steam Controller stopped working I just haven't had any desire to buy anything to replace it. So bummed that touch pads and grip modifiers never caught on, best controller ever made and now if you want to use the closest thing to it you have to buy a whole ass Steam Deck because they don't make them anymore.

Was playing an FPS at a friend's house after 1.5 decades of Mouse and Keyboard gaming and noticed controllers are 1: bad for FPS and 2: worse than I remember.

Or maybe I was simply better at FPS games when I was 16 playing Modern Warfare 2.

I've seen strong arguments made that a gyro controller like the PS5 - possibly with a flick stick setup - is competitive with keyboard and mouse for FPS games. But it's also a different enough input style that your hundreds or thousands of hours of experience with other input methods doesn't transfer and you have to relearn from the beginning.

They already do. I bought a Flydigi Vader 3 Pro at the end of last year and it has been amazing so far. Still feels like new and I use it a lot. There's also other highly regarded controllers like those from GuliKit and from 8bitdo.

        Flydigi Vader 3 Pro

Heyo I was about to recommend that controller, which I also bought at the end of last year.

My sales pitch is that it does everything the fancy "Elite" controller from Microsoft does, but also has gyro, Hall effect sticks, 6 face buttons, Switch/Android support and cost me literally almost 4 times less. And has gamer RGB lights.

The only con I have is that the mfer is noisy cause the buttons are very clicky

It's absolutely great! I don't mind the noise cause I really like the feeling of the buttons. My gripe with it is that their software only runs on Windows, it sucks to have to boot a VM to be able to configure the buttons, at least it lets me configure 4 different profiles. I also saw they just released the Vader 4 Pro, looks cool but doesn't seem like a big upgrade.

The best controller I have ever had is a Xbox 360 Pro Wireless controller. I still use that shit for computer stuff and it works so well. XB1 controllers are such crap compared to it. Honestly most gaming peripherals have been getting noticably worse in build quality.
