Thoughts on making a mega thread for tran spaces, sites, books, youtubers and artists we should avoid?

Call it the brainworm blacklist and it would probably be good to document something so that things can be avoided.

I came from bad spaces but I'm too headstrong to have any of that affect me but I tried to help others caught up in it.. been doing that for a loooong time lol

Yeah. Same. I'm glad I disconnected from most of the internet to have never really come into contact with a lot of this, even if it meant that my egg cracking got delayed by a few years.

I did, but then I saw people starting to pass before me or transition younger than me and it made me suicidal

power-genius Passing is a matter of individual people's perception. They have to decide, subconsciously, based on how they perceive gender, whether or not who they're looking at is a guy or a girl. Certain features that are commonly desired among women (high cheekbones, long fingers, whatever) might read masc to some random bozo on the street because he thinks "woman" is synonymous with fucking "barbie doll". You're relying on cis people's stupid no-brain perceptions of gender, it is going to be a dice roll.

It still sucks to get misgendered obviously, but who passes first and in what contexts is even more of a dice roll.

Also, if you present as the gender you want to be perceived as, it might help. Although you already pass right now, you posted about it before, so there's that too.

Not one trans girl has been able to tell their own level of passing. Just as, inevitably, every 20 something is actually quite gorgeous. Just one of those things where you look back and think "the fuck was I complaining about, why was I so anxious, just LOOK at me"
