I spent way too long looking for a gay webcomic or anime called "Ginger + Soy".

Ginger is a muscular bear that works as a chef. Soy is his twinkish boywife. The comic makes you think a lot about gender roles not only through the main characters, but also the married cishet woman in an unhappy relationship that lives down the hall from them.

Like two omnibuses in, you realize that Soy is actually incredibly confident in his masculinity, while Ginger begins questioning his own gender roles...

Curious how much non-hypermasculine cis guys seriously worry about phytoestrogen. Used to find it weird someone would be so concerned about it, even if it did have estrogen-like effects in the human body, but I think I assumed it was a niche concern/

badeline-jokerfied I hope it's a lot! I want "cis" guys awake in terror at night because they ate Aunt Bertha's curry without knowing there was tofu in it!!!

It is such a weird thing tbh, but uh something all politics as sexual pathology, I think?

There's kind of a racial element to it considering how tofu is a staple of asian cooking and how that intersects with western stereotypes of asian men as effeminate. Possibly also an anti-veganism? Ultimately it depends on the individual chud but there's a lot of intersecting reasons, though I feel like the racial one is the source if any in this case.

When it was just racism all along, yet again sadness-abysmal there's def an antivegan element to it as well though...

Yeah the anti-veganism is definitely there I'm just not sure it's the primary reason for the eatrogenising soy myth starting vs the racism. It is certainly a major reason for it continuing to have prevalence though.
