I tend to think of ancaps being the type to just let people sink or swim on their own, so you know, not the best person to be in charge of the police. I support defunding the police and moving that funding to things like social services. The police are bad, but sometimes people call them because they really do need help and there's nobody else to call. Putting an ancap in charge of something that's supposed to be a public service seems bad to me. But who knows, maybe it'd be no worse than anyone else in charge.
yeah i dont disagree with this, i just think that if someones against the police, and has control over the police, it is better than having someone who is pro-police... since maybe the ancap in question would be open to moving funds away from her department and into other programs that would be better able to respond to the communities needs? idk
Considering the position is as a sheriff, I highly doubt their views on economic policy mean absolutely anything.
Don't get me wrong AnCap philosophy is super shallow and ill thought out, but I think the point she made is great. People vote on a brand. Propaganda. That's all it is. Scratch the surface and they haven't got a clue as to why they're voting for these particular representatives. This encourages people to do DD into elected representatives and actually get interested in policy - which I expect to work much more favorably towards left-wing politics.
