I actually agree with the NYT here, this was a tainted election; Maduro's opposition was clearly funded by the US government, therefore tainting the election.

For all the screaming they do about "Russian meddling" they sure seem to have no sympathy for other countries having foreign powers interfering in their elections.

    was disputed by the opposition

Yeah, so was the 2020 US election. What's your point?

Libs will spend 4 years straight pissing themselves about January 6th, then jump to:

      #StopTheSteal

as soon as imperialists need their support.

They’ve been outright lying about Venezuela so long I don’t believe anything western media has to say on the topic unless they are writing about how much they’ve been colluding with the us government to lie about Venezuela.

Last election the New York Times openly supported a literal coup attempt.

Love how after a decade-ish of polling data being absolute dogshift, they’re still leaning on “it didn’t match the polling data, there must be funny business.”

They only did exit polls at 40% of polling locations. Not a single article has any evidence of irregularity other than the exit polling. Wonder how they decided where to poll thinkin-lenin

Urban locations most likely, not out of ideological concerns but just that those are easier to poll than in the hinterlands. Which I’m sure skewed the polls.

Yeah a lot of Maduro's support comes from rural indigenous communities who almost definitely weren't part of that 40%

Damn, I would have figured the previous embarrassing attempts at meddling would have made the feds duck their heads and shut up for a while, I guess they're actually banking on American goldfish memory

NYT loves peddling far-right election denial conspiracies, that’s how

They said riddled not rigged, because the polls the opposition conducted for themselves showed they were beating Maduro. Which is super weak and unconvincing unless you were already biased against the Venezuelan government. I wish there were reliable election monitors and Venezuela had used them, but there's not any actual evidence that the election was rigged (that I'm aware of) that holds up to scrutiny.

They said it was irregular before even looking at any data. Articles came pre-printed last week.

Can't wait for all the corrections a year later after the UN and independent election observers deny any irregularities

Former headline is purely unsubstantiated conjecture presented as fact. I assume the threadbare editorial standards at nyt led to the change
