I love (most of (one is terrrrriiibllee and i want her gone)) my housemates Care-Comrade Yes theyre LIBs but they do genuinely care about others and want to make life better for everyone. Were open with each other and have become good friends gustavo-brick-homies

I just keep being the voice of " Kamala and Walz are still politicians, they dont care about the underclasses. Their policies have been shitty in these ways [enumeration]". And try to frame things in a way theyll understand. Theyre not can-excuse-1 can-excuse-2 which is more than I can say for a lot of other self proclaimed leftists ive talked with.

The few self proclaimed leftist LIB's I've interacted with were assimilationists, military industrial complex brats and other comfortable queer crackers, the white fraglity was strong.

I'm glad you found half decent LIB people. I typically give most a chance before they put their foot in their mouth. I try to educate those that are willing to listen, those that aren't too propagandised at least. comrade-raccoon

Ive been lucky enough to have avoided the MIC brat libs, most of the ones i interact with are of the rainbow cracker variety. Tbh ive probably given these folks i live with more chances than i otherwise would cause i live with them. But theyve got mostly good views, its just that they think voting will actually make change, and that kamala/walz will somehow make things better. Theyve got some TDS and are terrified of project 2025, so its understandable why theyd cling to kamala/walz, even if their hope and trust is misplaced. One was genuinely distraught that biden stepped out of the race tho, which was kinda a mix of disgost and susie-laugh.

Idk, i think theyre mostly just mis- and underinformed. At least, i hope they are.

The other roommate is a trotskyist who has completely taken over half the house (to the point that we just cant be in those spaces) and doesnt clean or contribute to household chores. We dont like her and want her gone.

It sounds like they aren't completely brainrotted so that's always a plus.

Lol I envisioned them doing some weekend at bernies bit with Biden if he hadn't of stepped down hahaha

          roommate is a trotskyist

Ask her when the next paper is coming out lol Hopefully a roomate revolution will happen and you get a nicer replacement ayeaye

Honestly this would have been perfect, i wish they had done that it would have been truly hilarious. He would have croaked like a year into the term and wed get his aides doin tho whole sunglasses and arm around the shoulder bit with him susie-laugh

Hopefully a roomate revolution will happen and you get a nicer replacement

Ty, im hoping we can have a meeting and make clear (for the millionth time) that whats happening isnt ok. Shes not malicious, shes just oblivious and incapable of taking care of herself friend-visitor-3

Ikr gives me a chuckle because it would be in character lol

Shes not malicious, shes just oblivious and incapable of taking care of herself

That makes it more difficult, maybe help her understand and to ask for help if need be to get used to chipping in with chores. Maybe get a chores board if need be. Hopefully she'll listen when you have the meeting. I Hope things improve there anyhow, I always try to help too and it can be hard sometimes if people get defensive.

Weve tried lea-sad weve been trying for the past 3 months. She says she understands and then just doesnt do anything. She wont even clean up the carpet when her cats vomit or poo on it. And like, i want her to have the tools to be a good roommate, but i cant take someone (whose twice my age) under my wing and become their caretaker. :(

Yeah that's on her she should be cleaning it.. and you shouldn't be expected to be a caretaker either.

I would give this feedback to her and maybe discuss with your other room mates to give her an ultimatum, especially if this has been an ongoing thing.
