How long before a grieving parent domes one of these lying pieces of shit? These fucking lich death cult priests care not one iota for life, in fact judging from their actions they seem to revel in these events. I know if it happened, some other bloodless freak would be right there to step in for their fallen master, but goddammit they deserve some motherfucking consequences.

I can't believe it didn't happen after Uvalde but then again in the next election like 80% of votes went to republicans and the sheriff got re-elected.

Republicans literally just think this is the cost of doing business and are fine with that arrangement they just know it's not abgreat soundbite to explicitly say "I care more about being allowed to bring any gun anywhere then I do about children dying." But they've been implicitly saying that for decades.

Yea I'm not sure how you continue living in a place that 80% of your neighbors were very clear theybdidnt give a shit about your murdered kid like 6 weeks later.

Well I know the answer is actually that it's a poor border town so they can't afford to leave and they're in southern Texas so they'd have to move damn near a thousand miles to get anywhere halfway decent but other than that.

look at his face, in his head he's just thinking "hey, free national media exposure for my eventual campaign for president!". this motherfucker is campaigning for 2028 here with a signal to capital that he won't consider material changes

Exactly. "The blood of your children will continue feeding the Dark Ones" would cause too much of a stir, so we get "now isn't the time," and the words are spoken it-is-known and the Death Cult's victims sleep on

The Columbine Massacre was 25 years ago. Since then, we’ve had the same pattern of shooting —> thoughts and prayers —> doing jack shit every 1-2 years without any change. No reason to think it’ll change any time in the near future.

There will be zero consequences and we both know it. Some rational people will bring up gun control, while the nutters will repeat some inane thought-terminating cliche about “good guys” using their good guns to gun down all the bad guns, make up fake stats to suggest more guns would fix the problem of too many guns and how dare we try less guns, and at least a couple people will propose that every teacher should receive SWAT training and keep a stocked arsenal inside their desks, and we’ll keep repeating the same pattern until hell freezes over.

How is this regularly not used as an argument to defund the 40%?

"Look at how many times the cops have told us we're on our own? Are they really protecting us or just playing soldier?"

Honestly, agreed. I can't help but think that CHUDs practically LIKE IT when this happens.

frothingfash: "Fuck yeah, anarchy! Chaos! Destruction! So manly! Soooo cool!"

It's like we're surrounded by hordes of people who are mentally all 8 year old boys.

The responsibility is too diffuse, and the people most likely to respond that way are too busy voting for this guy to shoot at him.

When the fuck will it be time to talk about the safety of the kids? When its time to demonise trans people just for existing? When?

Besides the 'known to FBI/authorities', the other thing I picked up skimming some of the media reports was about this 'installed a week ago' alert system at the school:

Sheriff Jud Smith said: "All of our teachers are armed with a form of ID, this alarms us and alerts law enforcement officers after buttons are pressed on the ID.

So wonder which security-tech firm is about to make a bunch of money off this news.

Perhaps one of those thoughts might be "I don't want this to happen again." or POSSIBLY IF WE'RE FEELING WILD "I will work to prevent this from happening again." AND IF WE WANT TO SHAKE UP THE WORLD "I will use my power as governor to work to prevent this from happening again." and the revolutionarily spirited "I will use my power as governor to work to enact popular policy to prevent this from happening again."

So they've expanded the old talking point of "DON'T TALK ABOUT GUNS OR POLITICS!" to "DON'T EVEN TALK ABOUT STUDENT SAFETY!"

Bold move, let's see if it pays off
