I am consistently surprised Hasan has escaped the minor leauge hell for being a comunist. I don't know why regular people talk to him considering how high is power level though. Is it just cause he is hot?

I'm getting reports on all sides about SWERF stuff. I'm just a lowly mod and this is beyond my pay grade. I just ask that people be nice until someone with more knowledge is able to handle this situation. I don't pretend to know the answer to this problem.

I appreciate the honesty, Mao's "No investigation, no right to speak" is a golden rule. I really liked the redsails link Miz posted and would suggest you read it for yourself even beyond your mod duties, it sums up the way many people I've known who've escaped the industry feel in my experience.

TBH I've read it, but I've also read critiques of it. It's really hard for me to take sides, especially as a dude who works in an office. Can people please not have a struggle session in this comm, you're welcome to make your own post in theory or effort.

She also claims that we call her “a victim”, when she identifies as a “survivor” of the sex trade. SWERFs often obsess with meaningless aesthetics like this.

This feels incredibly awful to say to an actual r*** victim... This blatant r*** denial even without the marxist view of prostitution, just further adding the idea that this SWERF concept is actively hostile to SW-survivors... Also clearly the original article is not talking about settlers doing OFs like Maya and calls out people in her class using the long standing Marxist position on prostitution... This whole response article feels incredibly gross to me.

I'll leave it at I'm incredibly uncomfortable with the SWERF comment getting so many upvotes and I hope something is done about this in the future.

Please just leave this discussion to a mod or admin with more knowledge. I asked you not to have a struggling session here yet you're still doing it.

I'm sorry I'm passionate, I said I'd leave it at that. but fine fuck all yall half the posts on here are stolen from twitter and rest is settler communist trash, I actually can't fucking believe you'd read that article and be convinced by it at all and everyone that upvoted that SWERF comment certainly hasn't read Marx and should get IP banned for that ghoulish r*** apolgia shit. Enjoy your meme posts about genocide and community of barely left of ACP "Communists"

No, he’s talking about Hasan. From this article:

I’ve had sex with, not even escorts—I’ve gone to a brothel, Artemis, in Berlin, and had sex with the workers there.

CW discussion of SA and sex work

And I believe the “industrialized r***” comment is a reference to the claim that all sex work isremoved which, depending on who you ask, is either SWERF shit or the Only Correct Leftist Position. I don’t know if this community has had a reckoning on sex work yet so we’ll see how that goes.

Ah so the “bro I am so sex positive bro, Porn is unproblematic”

Btw Berlin is infamous for the foreign trafficked sex workers exploited there. Berlin is a tourist trap for young americans.

I really hope there's no one here who'd call that "SWERF" shit, the liberal "freedom to be exploited" should be see through to communists at least dear god I hope so. Being forced to sell your body under the threat of homelessness and death is one of the highest forms of patriarchal and capitalist explotation, we can play what if about unionization or legalization but everytime that plays out in our capitalist system the global system of literal sexual slavery in this form of the pimp/prostitute dialectic is heightened to terrifying industrial extremes. A few bourgeoise talking heads that can leave the industry without fear of being killed might tell us this is the path and they may genuinely believe it, but for the sake of the hyper exploited women of the world and especially trans women the liberal "sex worker" narrative needs to be rejected in favor of the true liberation these people deserve.

thank you, I havent finished but so far this really resonates so much with me and puts a lot into words I wish I could. I really hope to share this with others because I really feel like there's just so much on the line and it's a disturbingly common view especially in settler spaces.

Are you sure that you understand the quote that you posted? The quote is saying that prostitution is comparable to patriarchal marriage. The phrase "an openly legalised community of women", is saying that marriage is a legalized form of prostitution. That is to say that marriage under a capitalist society, where a women raises children at home while the man goes to work for a wage, is equal to prostitution, because the woman is financially dependent on the man and is required to have sex with the man. I don't see you condemning every marriage that exists under capitalism. You are in fact saying that engaging in prostitution is worse than marriage, when this quote that you posted is saying that prostitution is equal to marriage. It is not saying that prostitution is worse than marriage. So if you condemn the practice of sex work for exchanging sex for money, you must also equally condemn every marriage under capitalism because that is also an exchanging sex for money.

This is a sensitive issue. I care so, so much about people in this position more than I could ever convey over the internet and concerning more than I'd ever be willing to share. Why be so dismissive to someone with hate, even if misguided, towards an industry that inarguably in our current day exists through mass enslavement and gender based systemic oppression both economic and cultural?

he used to be a D tier starcraft competitor. It makes more sense when you realize it's a gamertag from a decade and a half or more ago. He didn't make that up for his debate bro phase, he just couldn't compete and over time found more viewers and money in being a debate bro. it was weird finding him doing that after not being online for a good while when last I remember was him being a starcraft player

Friends of the pod is deeply cursed, they even occasionally get in beef with eachother (for example pointing out that one of the hosts of their pod went on Survivor during, they insist, the most important political campaign of their lives)

Sometimes the podjons and the guests can be too centrist even for them, it's always fun to see their hairsbreadth left of centre critiques

Maybe my favorite example of what you're talking about was after the first debate - podjons were visibly shaken by his performance and were floating replacing him, and the subreddit and most of the lib media world absolutely lost it.

That was my favorite day of this campaign (so far)

They included some clips of those statements, idk. They're obviously pretty out of context but it's admittedly not Hasan's best moment. I don't know what the broader context was there, and the guy who clipped it seems like a Destiny troll obviously looking for fodder to comment on. I'm sure he keeps talking about that take where the clip abruptly cuts off - maybe he clarifies or walks it back - but without knowing where it came from myself I can't say for sure.

As someone who doesn't watch Hasan, I was wondering if that was true. That was the only point that sounded bad, everything else sounded frankly, awesome, or like the same purposeful misconstruing of anti-Zionism with antisemitism.

iirc he said something along the lines of 'the one good thing about all these private school kids segregating themselves into these super elite schools away from everybody else is that at least they won't be hurting and being sex pests to normal people, just each other'
