WTF I love fracking now!
Donald Trump makes fun of her all the time and his supporters constantly talk about raping her. I'd want him to lose as well.
Because she is literally a child and hasn't lived through enough election cycles to realise the whole thing is a sham yet.
She's a political activist with a multimillion dollar publicity campaign behind her, she's not the one making decisions here.
dont you reckon? I was 17 when I started getting more involved, and I was like a borderline chud on some issues before that. It's basically her job to be woke at this kinda thing.
They are both abominable but Trump is literally tweeting insults about her from the white house. She gets death threats. She's a human-being, not a set of walking policy preferences.
I mean yeah but if I was her age and I was being constantly attacked by the leader of one of the largest nations in the world and had death and rape threats from their base I would probably endorse their opponent too. Not everyone knows how broken the electoral system is, its not a natural thing to discover for most people because they are told all their lives that it works.
Maybe we shouldn’t be getting all our political opinions from a teenager :stirner-shocked:
So what, I shouldn't have gotten a Greta tattoo?
The space next to my RBG tat was so empty though.
This is the reverse of Justin Trudeau attending the climate rallies and protesting against himself.
This is foreign election interference! Activists should just stick to endorsing policies anyways, the candidates will let you down always.
I mean, if she wants to continue spreading her message/being even slightly proactive, she kind of needs someone who won't explicitly talk shit about it, so yeah it makes sense she's not endorsing the braindead conspiracy theorist who'd prob eat coal if he's FF boys told him to.
Biden is hinting about that 2 trillion plan, and Kamala was attempting to do Dogwhistling RE fracking insinuating that when she became President she wouldn't be beholden to Biden's promises. There is a lot to be skeptical about, but enough to justify an endorsement.
I would say the people who listen to her already are voting for Biden and not Trump, but I guess she appeals to the younger more jaded crowd, so maybe that's why she's been explicit.
It's an endorsement of one of only two candidates. You don't have to allow it to define or conflict with your ideology, you just say words, and hope it affects people in swing states.
It doesn't mean she can't criticise him once he gets in office. It also allows more proactive candidates to have a slight sway.
It's likely actual climate action will probably mean looting and destroying coal plants using crowds of comrades, but having a pres that won't mobilise CHUDS to kill climate protesters is a slight win that was enabled by a climate activist saying some words in an interview.
How can we best defeat climate change? In an environment dictated by Trump/Republicans or Biden/Democrats? "Both suck" Yeah, obviously, thanks Doomer, but say we're about to do any actual practical strategies without the help of the GOV, it's best to increase your chances of success by not enabling MAGA deathsquads patrolling coal plants.
You're not voting because it doesn't align with your values? Yeah, duh, you vote for the closest ideologically. But also, you're falling into Lib territory. Votes don't define you. It's just one piece of paper. None of your doomer friends will know, you're just giving the slightest advantage to your cause for free.
t's true, they might not be swayed left. But you reckon 4 more years of Trump enabling toxic misinformation, radicalising violent fuckheads and stopping any change on a local level is going to help?
If you're in NY or LA, vote for Green or nothing, no worries. But if you're in a swing state, not voting isn't going to own Biden and make him and the DNC realise they should've gone further left. You aren't enabling a new generation of the left, you're allowing the autocrats to take over and further reign death.
Sorry dude, you're in a fucked up system, here in Aus we can vote for and endorse third party candidates and it actually affect the balance of power in parliament/senate, but you're in US, where it's one or the other (unless you're voting in primaries, local and state elections)
Just on a cynical PR side, it's prob better for her career to promote the candidate that also superficially supports climate action.
Endorsing a third party candidate for pres in US is basically a doomer move which is so lame and counterproductive as a climate activist.
I'm in Aus, very often our major decisions come down to random third party candidates, despite "only two parties" doomer shit. Can't recommend preferential voting enough.
You don’t have to allow it to define or conflict with your ideology

Meh, at this point she's a politician, an international diplomat. Can only be as angry as a Bernie or AOC endorsement.
This will give her more ammunition to lobby for a green new deal if Biden wins. The long con, kids, quit being such reactionaries.
