Its wild how much a lot of peoples ideas and framework for how the world works comes almost entirely from american tv and movies.
It's quite insidious, it instills the idea that justice always prevails in the end, bad guys get their comeuppance, that there is someone in charge making sure everything is going to be ok and that's simply just not the case.
See: every crime drama ever.
The cops walk away from a job well done at the end of every episode. They're everyone's best friend and nobody is worried about talking to them without a lawyer.
It's like, just-world heroin.
Yeah and they are like good hearted people with a conscience and strong sense of justice. Even the mavericks who dont play by the rules but by god they get results.
Don't forget those stupid lawyers and annoying civil rights that keep preventing our heroes from solving the case!
The upside of this is that those same media channels can be used to deprogram the chud half of the country.
theyre owned by the people who have the least incentive to deprogram chuds though
Certainly. I'm talking more about some hypothetical better future when they wouldn't be. Media has been consciously crafted to make chuds the way they are, and it can be used to unmake chuds, too.
So you want...Lisa Simpson? Springfield's answer to the question NOBODY ASKED?!
Why does every trans person who works for or worked for Human Rights Campaign suck so fucking much
Never heard of "Human Rights Campaign" but i swear all "human rights" orgs are just "america #1" orgs in disguise.
Ironically the Human Rights Campaign only really focuses on gay rights--and I mean gay rights, they pushed an anti-discrimination law to the detriment of trans people, promising to "come back for them" after it gets passed. Fucking ghouls.
yep. look through their state documents too. they never mention trans people
i got my surgeries and healthcare by being a stooge and you can too ™️
i mean thats what i always think when i see some neoliberal trans person like clymer or jenner. they love to act like the rest of us can do it too
They have a lot more in common with Blaire White than they'd like to think they do
