I got into the sub way back cause it was the only place that not only supported Chelsea Manning's release but also no one fucking mis gendered or deadnamed her in the comments either.

Same, I also remember a dude posting a pic of his cat hoping it's gonna be the last thing someone sees on the sub. Little did he know, he was right lol
Yep, I remember this. I was in the acceptance stage that we were definitely going to get nuked and just waiting for the inevitable, and seeing this post legit made me cry.
Unless someone else has already messaged them I'm to reach out and let them know about this place.

Did AgainstHateSubreddits ever get into spats with r/chapo? I didn’t stick around for the later years of the sub but it sounds like something that would happen, maybe even accelerated the ban or something

I love the comments that just keep saying "well established facts" but don't actually provide any of the well established facts.
The one with citations actually shows that the shoes were made in Vietnam and Zens is in fact the one that tried to make it a story. Then they just say "well, those shoes were probably actually made in Uyghur prison camps and they just lied about where they were made"

They constantly just state things are "well established facts" then just claim anyone trying to show that no, those aren't facts, are "red fash" or "tankies".
Of course they do, GenZedong hates liberals and AgainstHateSubreddits is probably better than 90% liberals.
Not to mention the civility that leftists imperil by existing, and how leftists endanger the dynamic that liberals desperately want to pretend exists between them and 'normal' conservatives
We'd get linked there from time to time, and maybe 80% of those threads would get ignored, downvoted, or have someone explaining to the class why supporting Palestinians isn't hate. It was a lib sub but for the most part their hearts were in the right place.
AgainstHateSubreddits is everything wrong with liberalism:

A few users, after the cth ban, went after moretankiechapo. I like AHS, they probably contribute a good bit to deplatforming fascists, which is always cool and good. But some of them have lib bothsidesism brainworms.
Last day posting was so cool, I felt like we were going to ascend in a new era of posting (we did)
The only thing that cumtown troll was right about was that we should have had this place up and running in advance.
Seeing this in popular was how I found out the sub got banned. I took a screenshot too, I guess as a reminder of the absurdity of those bans.
Plus side is I use reddit like 90% less. Now and then I find myself getting sucked in to it and inadvertently expose myself to brain worms but it’s much easier to log off now.
Yeah I had a feeling that might be the end and I thought it would be good to preserve something that showed just how great the community was before it was gone as I had a bad feeling it was coming, then a few minutes later we got slapped with the ban.
I actually had that tab open after the ban because I hadn't refreshed it yet. I managed to screen grab the whole thread. A momento of what was lost.
That would actually be a cool post. Could even go message those folks and tell them about this place.
