Who knew one type of flavorless dry protein slathered in seasoning and sodium would pass as a different flavorless dry protein that also happens to be cheaper and faster to prepare (not to mention vegan)
lmao no wonder you think that shit is good, you also think meat and beans have no flavor...
Also does texture just not matter to you?
Meat is not flavorless you flavor-overdosed capitalist-dwelling feral hog. And neither are breans for that matter.
They have beautiful, subtle flavors that can only be enjoyed when you don't drown their nature-gifted flavor with the synthetic sauces of the capitalist culinary hell we call condiments and seasoning!
Or, well, just let your meat grow at a somewhat natural pace instead of eating this overbred, overfed, disgusting garbage. Or don’t, less meat consumption is generally a good thing.
I'll surrender meat the same day I surrender fish the same day I'll surrender soy sauce and ginger fried tofu.
And thats when you can squeeze it from my cold dead hands! COME AND GET MY MEAT, COMMIES!
:vegan-edge: VEGAN VANGUARD IS ON THE SCENE :vegan-edge:
🚨 LIBERAL CARNISM DETECTED 🚨
WE HAVE COME TO TAKE YOUR MEAT
COME AND GET MY MEAT, COMMIES!
VOLCEL POLICE, VOLCEL POLICE!
People act like eating bugs is some horrifying dystopia thing then eat literal fucking mold
I've had a cricket and it was tasty. Cannot say the same for mushrooms
What type of beans did you use? Black beans? Thinking of trying it next time I make taco "meat".
Yeah, just regular aldi black beans (rinsed thoroughly). 2 cans to 1 packet of seasoning seems to be the right ratio
It's just a white thing in general, not really specific to any region of the US afaik
Describing both meat (I'm assuming minced beef) and beans as flavourless and dry is bothering me really bad.
I get that you also add a lot of seasoning to tacos but the underlying flavours there are vastly different.
It was a comedic exaggeration. The texture is pretty different, but drowned in seasoning and taco sauce any subtlety in flavor is pretty much lost
Hmm... Fair enough.
This post made me hungry for tacos though.
Yeah I was surprised how little I missed meat in my tacos when having a blend of black beans and rice cooked with onions, garlic, spinach, and a bunch of seasonings.
Mushrooms are a GREAT alternative to meat! They taste meaty and have a meatier texture while being vegan (I think?).

Why wouldn't mushrooms be vegan

I'd rather kill myself than willingly ingest fungi
I honestly don’t know. Technically vegetables and fungi are living creatures. So Veganism is confusing to me haha
