Couldn't have picked a better time to come up with an outrageously greedy change to an existing service huh

I want Twitter to die more than my continued using of Twitter at this point.

It sucks all the other social media dry by it's very presense.

Let's go back to an amalgamation of various socials or better yet: Internet forums/message boards.

the last 83 changes musk made to the website have only ever made it worse but this clearly bad 84th idea is going to completely change the platform for the better, trust me guys

During discussing twitter in a pub a person was quite angry that I didn't refer to the bird site with the name melon-musk likes so much. The same person sometimes argues that dead naming is not a problem, till the new name is accepted by the state in official registries and the person got an ID with that.

Flip side of the same coin.

The last 83 changes were supposed to kill Twitter but I keep hearing from people on Twitter about how nobody should be using Twitter at this point. Surely this 84th nail will be the final one in the coffin.

He could easily get a few million chuds to pay him money for the dopamine hit of seeing their last tweet got 84 trillion views and likes on a website that used to be dominated by libs.

now as long as we just keep adding on new fees and algorithms to decide the fees and systems to control the algorithms and pay 800,000 technicians around the world to keep it all in check forever... The System Works™️!

Capitalist is like one of those childhood games where 2 kids pretend to have superpowers and they keep coming up with new OP moves like "Unbreakable titanium shield!" and "Titanium-melting lava bolt!" and then "Super-lava-resistant invisible forcefield!" each to one-up the last one, except they never stop, we're all beholden to it, and the game decides our paychecks

and the game decides our paychecks

the game is causing a mass extinction event and destroying human civilization, too

I really think we should fuckin stop them already

If it's not dead already I don't see how it ever dies.

It should have been a ghost town 2 weeks after musk took over but people are so addicted to it everybody keeps talking about how Twitter is done for on Twitter.

Not really sure why there's anybody left at the nazi bar other than nazis at this point.

I also never had an account but that's just a layman's outside perspective.

Elon taking over had a relatively small effect on the material conditions of the average user. Charging everybody to use twitter would be a huge change.

I would say opening the flood gates and letting all the banned fascists back in would be about where the "material conditions of the average user" would have changed enough for me to leave the nazi bar but again I've never had an account.

It actually had a lot of impact on the research community. Just the "minor" change earlier on to not let unlogged users see threads caused a lot of stress for people who depend on twitter for research news. The main issue is that those and the artists who make twitter worth using are very small fish compared to the main users (fascists, celebrities and porn).
