    New feeling just dropped

    This picture makes me feel unsettled. Like the massive appeal to hetero-normality is forced to an absurd degree. Their dress, their bible, the biceps, her lips, the ring, all of it. The bible is too perfectly tattered. His hair is too perfectly kept. I don't trust them. Am I being sold something? Am I being shown norms? Ideals? It's like normal-porn.

      Most evangelicals don't read their Bibles that much. Or if they do, they read one small section then look to commentaries or pastors or something to tell them what it means.

      A joke among us ex-evangelicals is "my deconversion started once I started actually reading the Bible".
