Let me find the one my brother sent me . . . found it! (Ok, ok, so maybe it doesn't technically apply, but it makes me laugh.)

The YPG is not a genuine Communist movement. It is imperialist and has US backing. It exists to destabilize Assad, a good leader who promotes anti Americanism.

"the kurds got guns and air support from the us military to fight isis and were promptly abandoned to turkish fascism once the us got what it wanted, therefore the kurds aren't socialist and are trying to fuck with daddy assad"

what a leap in logic, consider yourself down voted you fucking tool

By saying this you are admitting that the YPG (don’t conflate the ypg with an ethnic group) are not anti American. Socialism in the 21st can only succeed with a vicious hatred all things American.

gee idk between "be slaughtered by islamic extremists" and "take guns from america" i'd rather take the second option tbh

Yes because those were the only options they had

Could have fought for the Syrian Socialist army but noooo let’s have white people from America enter our movement

why should kurds and other ethnic groups be expected to fight for syrian arabs? don't they have a right to self determinism?

Because Syria is a proto socialist nation and Anti-Imperialism is the most important thing in geopolitics.

but isn't it imperialism to force other ethnic groups to fight for an arab country?

Because Ba’athish Syria isn’t an ethnostate and isn’t gonna be shitty to non Arab people. It has nothing to do with ethnics

but why would a state thats unconcerned with ethnics literally call itself the Syrian Arab Republic? sounds pretty fucking ethnocentric to me

so.... I don't even know where to start with you. you're very dogmatic, but you don't seem to have thought things through all the way, and you're very very much not flexible. it seems like your politics mostly come from hatred of one empire that make you blind to other shitty things, and unable to acknowledge when the bad guys occasionally, unintentionally, fertilize a garden in their attempts to shit on someone.

you need more nuance or less strict dogma. choose whichever appeals to you, but the world is complicated and black+white morality is rarely any of helpful illuminating or honest. the world is shades of grey and purple and some ultraviolet infared shit I literally can't even see without a special camera, farther complicated by obtuse abstruse shitbag spies and advertisers who cover half this shit in smokescreens and double bluffs, and if you can't acknowledge that: you do not flatter yourself or the things you stand by when you speak with this level of confidence assertiveness and aggression.

the passion is there. but you need to look closer, read more. and remember that people here generally aren't completely brainwashed imperialist shitbags. we're other kinds of shit bags.

Anti-imperialism is when I tell a nation how it has to behave and it has to listen to me because of my big brain I guess

Ah yes geopolitics is when you help America against whatever group the American government hates this week.

Assad is the best option in Syria given his resistance to US imperialism, but that's not the same as being good, and he doesn't represent socialism in any real way. People like Assad are who the phrase "critical support" was coined for

? No it's not? Remember when the US was buddy-buddy with Saddam Hussein because he was anti-communist (among other geopolitical reasons)? I mean, you know, before they turned on him

Lol it's clearly not. The country is run by the Assad family.
