If you can’t pay people a liveable wage then you shouldn’t own a business.

"If a business fails because it had to pay workers a livable wage then the business wasn't worth having in the first place."

If I was in charge, every time a business cried about minimum wage I'd increase it until they shut the fuck up.

What happened to all the bootstraps? Where's the Darwinian instinct? The ruthless drive of competition? These fuckin weakling parasites force workers to take the brunt of the economy's excesses, but demand society feel sorry for their "inability" to pay their employees a living wage....FUUUCK YOU

Yo, hands down, I don't give a flying FUCK if all mom and pop stores are replaced by fucking Walmarts and Burkenstocks if $15/hr is making them insolvent. Fuck the consumerist morals about supporting small business, I will gladly feed off the boug hand just to watch the western petit boug squirm.

EDIT: I seem a bit harsh here lol I don't hate small businesses but if big business is offering more compensation and benefits what merit does a business have other than sentimental.

The worse part of the whole debate for me is how they just admit they think small business have more of a right to exist than poor people

Say what you will about him but that's kinda ballsy for Biden to be walking a balance beam out in the middle of the ocean.
Wait, actually what' going on here. It looks like the waters only a couple feet deep. The single-board dock Bieden is standing on is only 2-3 feet in the water, and the small business boat guy-... Wait, his BOAT is covid? Why is his BOAT covid? I can't even analyse this, none of it make ssense!

It’s the perfect amount of time so that way republicans can win back in the midterms and 2024 and take it away. Then Dems can say, see look? We really tried but those garsh darn republicans messed it up

It's probably actually a good campaign tactic to get out the vote, the liberals tried it in the last Ontario provincial election. Their argument was vote for us or the conservatives will cancel the minimum wage phase in, before suffering the worst defeat in Canadian electoral history. As a disclaimer, they were deeply disliked and had been in power for 15 years. They were in charge of a long period of austerity and further privatization, had a last minute hail Mary with the minimum wage raise and a bunch of infrastructure projects which failed.

Good thing I see no possible similarities between them and the Dems here.

It's not just federal employees, but yeah the phase in period is really long.

Wait, in the context of this picture, the $15 min. wage would break COVID, then provide a rope that the small business could use to get back to shore still.
