Oh god. Literally a cia op to get people to post a bunch of black squares to hide valuable information being sent out. And the Libs just fell for it so easily. That’s what happens with performative politics

    Love that selective policing.

Like the BLM member denied bail because they might get radicalized by social media

I thought the victim refused to cooperate with prosecutors and released a statement about how we need to focus more on the racism in Congress and DC not being a state.

e: I read the article and yes.

"I am far more outraged by the U.S. Congress, which continues to deny the mostly Black and Brown people of the District of Columbia statehood and the representation every American deserves, than by anything Amy Cooper did," he told CNN. "That gross racial injustice could be fixed by Congress now, today, and that's what people should be focused on -- not last year's events in Central Park."

Community service, maybe in combination with whatever program she completed, probably would have been the best approach. At least with community service she would have done something productive for society -- it's too easy to just say the right things in a "you know, racism is bad, actually" course.

Community service should be done in a setting that builds empathy, specifically with those against whom the crime was committed.

Edit: except crimes against capital obv

And this lady is literally the one type of person who should be in prison. She's a psychopath.

I remember this vid, it was absolutely shocking. She seems to have faced other social consequenses though, lost her job and became a national figure of hate, gotta factor that in to the assessment

i mean the entire situation is absurd. she was of course being racist, but her racism consisted of utilizing the "justice" system in the way whites have always used it, and now that same system has produced tools to to reform its subjects to avert any reform of itself.

She knew what she did was wrong.

I'm not entirely sold on this perspective. I think there's a certain amount of willing obliviousness in white wielders of state violence, and I think education work can help dispel that. I don't think a state-mandated racial bias training is gonna provide that though, since it's hardly going to admit to the real reason calling the cops on people is bad.

And this doesn't account for how her tone changes to fake panic when she talks to the 9-1-1 operator. If you listen to or watch the video it's sickening.

Nah, you just cool with racism. Wtf is “underlying racism?” Of course you have to qualify the racism.

“She’s was being racist” is unqualified “she has some underlying racism that surfaced when she got panicked” is full of qualifiers. The racism was “underlying” and only “surfaced” because she was “panicked” . Then you go on to blame that panic on him.

So what you’re really saying is it’s his fault her racism latched out and threatened his life.

Try harder not to be a racist next time. You can do it champ!

Thanks for giving context for why she was being a racist and putting his life in danger. Don’t know what I would do without you. Needing to qualify someone’s racism is a form of racism itself. But I wouldn’t expect a racist to know that.
