Why are a bunch of people talking about it I can't find what actually happened
This is maybe the best shitpost I've ever seen in my life. Well done indeed.
deny the importance of a progressive monarchy
Juche is the light itself
Megan Merkle (sp?) who is married to Prince Harry did an Oprah interview where she revealed that the family was worried her baby would be too dark skinned among other racist shit.
Megan Merkle too dark... they really believe a single drop of melanin will collapse the whole aristocracy.
There's many people here who are darker and we're considered white lmao
EDIT: Our version of Hillary Clinton for example: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dora_Bakoyannis
It's extra funny because Phillip comes from the Greek royal family except the Greek royal family is a bunch of German/Danish weirdos who just showed up after the country's liberation and were like "Hallo, vee are seiner royals now! Mein name is Glucksburg, king of zee Greeks!" and somehow this was a thing for like a century, and lots of "patriotic" chuds still go nuts about them.
In Denmark the Greek Glücksburgs are still referred to as kings and princes and whatnot of Greece, a country who explicitly decided not to have a monarchy.
It's like saying you're still dating someone who publicly dumped you.
Yeah they larp as princes themselves a lot, even when they come here, it is really embarrassing. Thankfully they are almost universally ignored. It's not even recent, it's been like half a century since we had a monarchy. Half of them weren't even born then. So I guess it's kinda like not just saying you're dating someone who publicly dumped you, but also your children with someone else calling the person who dumped you "mom".
Yeah kind of. At first Greece was founded as a democracy but conflict led to the first governor of the Hellenic State Kapodistrias being murdered. This was followed by unrest at which point the 3 Great Powers had a convention and thought "hey, there is this 17 year old Bavarian prince who is kind of sort of related through his father to some Byzantine king who lived 400 years ago, we should make him king". Eventually he was deposed and exiled so they introduced a new Danish king, only that time they at least gave a couple different options for the National Assembly to chose from. BTW they turned out to be worse than Otto.
It’s extra funny because Phillip comes from the Greek royal family
Fake news, the only Greek King I recognize is Stavros.
Correction, German royal (if you're talking about Otto which I assume you are). But I wouldn't say he is a national hero exactly, and that was post revolution. The one person who almost fits that profile would be Lord Byron, but he wasn't a royal, and he was more similar to the American leftists who go to fight in Rojava etc, and he is definitely justified to be thought of as a national hero.
Love them tho and their anarchists are still based.
Our anarchists are annoying and infiltrated af. The reason people think they are based is because Greece has a really long history of low tolerance towards police and protests are very normalised, so it is a lot easier and more acceptable for people to clash with police. Most of the time black bloc anarchists just make shit harder for everyone though because they clash with leftists, attract cops at really inopportune times and places and give them excuses and justifications to make repression more harsh.
BTW Otto was 17 when he became king of Greece. They literally just came and said "here's a little kid, he's your king now".
Nah no need to. I don't expect people from the other side of the world to be highly knowledgeable of everything going on here. In fact most people here aren't even that knowledgeable lol.
But yeah it was definitely super weird. Greece only became independent thanks to it serving the interests of the 3 "Great Powers", France, Britain and Russia. So throughout its early modern history it was dependent on them. Meanwhile they were competing with each other which translated into lots of shit flinging and unrest in Greece because that's what happens when 3 different countries are competing for influence. So every now and then they were like "OK shit is getting weird here, here, have a new king appointed by us".
She also said the royals wouldn't let her get help when she had suicidal ideation.
Sociopath? I mostly know her as the pretty girl from Suits
If she says the Royals were worried that her kid would be too dark, I’d say it’s probably projection.
Projection of what?
That she was worried that the baby would be too dark? She's not exactly shy or ashamed of being a mixed-race person with African American family.
Saw a great tweet saying if MM was good at lying her acting heights wouldn't be some minor role in fucking Suits
Yes but also pathetic Amerikka.
You see since they are still considered foreign heads of state they get secret service protection and we pay the cost.
Is it legal to shoot them if I use a black powder flintlock to do it?
To no one's suprise the royal family is extremely racist
The one that looks like a ghoul is in hospital, possibly with 'rona. They wheeled the nonce one that doesn't sweat out to look sad over Rotface's decaying pre-corpse. The American woman who married one of them did an Opra interview where she said that they were racist, surprising no-one, (especially since there's pictures of the queen as a child seig heiling).
Don't know any of the names, don't care enough but shit is plastered over the news here like 24/7.
ubermensch baby
For the uninitiated: this means the baby sleeps five times per day, evenly spaced, for roughly 50 minutes each time in order to maximise the REM rebound effect and spend the least possible amount of time sleeping
Harry got a "mixed-race" wife so the royal family hates them. They severed ties and are now in pretty unexplored territory. "Abdicated prince" is probably a long term propaganda thing to give the royals some down-to-earth-ness.
The rest of them dressed as nazis irl unironically, so maybe he was mocking them
You hear about people in sci-fi having to leave set and do an emergency thing in full makeup sometimes. Finding out your wife is in labor in the middle of your big scene as Himmler, that would be an awkward trip to the hospital.
I was specifically thinking of Rene Oborjenois needing to drive somewhere as Odo, six degrees of separation since he played Dee's old drama teacher in the episode with Lethal Weapon 5.
I get trigged by the existence of monarchy. Especially in countries that claim "civilization" "Western values" "progress" "developed" etc. Like wtf. :agony-limitless:
But they're like, uh, mascots! Look at all the r e p r e s e n t a t i o n they bring our country on their travels!
All the tourists who comes here because of the monarchy! Nobody decides where to go on vacation based on price, sights, climate etc. They all look at the constitutional arrangements.
And definitely would never visit France because they do not. France of course does not have any tourist.
All the tourists in France were vaporized each time the monarchy was overthrown. It's sad, really. No one ever visits Paris, so the city's economy is really suffering.
It was probably true during peak Pope ages tho. Wouldn't want to visit a pagan demonic hellhole by mistake.
Harry and Meghan could be some of the worst scumbags in the world and I'll still root for them existing for the moment, just to sew discord amongst the incestuous protection racket for tories with yellow metal occasionally on their heads
Idk about the relationship stuff but apparently that one 1000 year old ghoul guy got an organ transplant or something recently lol
I would die happy if I could take out even a single member of the british royal family. And I feel like they know this somehow as they keep denying me my VISA, I can't even go there to see my cousins.
