It says he supports lowering the age for medicare, not that he no longer believes in medicare for all. I'm not sure why this is an indictment of Sanders.

Yeah after the way The Hill covered his campaign it would be pretty foolish to take their coverage of Sanders in good faith. You're right about this being a bare minimum move designed to avoid doing anything truly impactful though.

On one hand, taking a concession from the capitalist class can ameliorate the suffering of the working class in the short-to-medium term.

On the other hand, socdems gonna socdem.

Why do so many comrades fall for these clickbait headlines? It's amazing how some lib at The Hill can try to manufacture consent about Bernie and half the people here eat it up.

It's trendy on the left to hate Bernie now even though he's done more for leftist politics in America than pretty much any of us.

Nah he's alright. Did a lot of good work. Turned a lot of people into leftists. Far from perfect but you're being a bit dramatic.

When will people realize half these "Bernie has caved to the establishment" headlines are just efforts to manufacture consent targeted at us. Bernie has not given up on Medicare for All lmao for fuck's sake, and I don't get why people here will listen to some lib at The Hill and eat it up.

These articles are usualy bullshit but also Bernie very obviously has caved to the establishment. Maybe not just now by abandoning M4A or whatever this dumb article says buits hard to argue that he hasnt.

Yeah attack the article for being bullshit and people shouldnt take it seriously but the takeaway isnt "this is false AND ACTUALY Bernie hasnt caved to the establishment"

He's been in Congress for 30 years voting for whatever healthcare expansion bills roll around. There's no reason why anyone should be even slightly surprised. He voted for the ACA

But there’s at least one itty-bitty, teeny-weeny problem with this plan: It will be very expensive. (...) Sanders says not to worry. He wants to extract Medicare expansion’s additional cost from the prescription drug companies. (.. ) Sanders’s real goal is for the government to oversee, if not completely control, the drug companies. Just imagine how long it might have taken to develop a vaccine if drug companies had to wait on Congress to decide what it wanted to do and provide the funds.

I can't believe they've written this. it's such obvious propaganda. Jezus Christ.

Communists want a future where bernie sanders look down onto a gaggle of c-level lanyards all begging him to be able to release the universal cancer vaccine they personally developed but he says no just do more fentanyl and also you have to give it away for free

What? M4A was his thing. It baffles me how national healthcare did not rise out of this pandemic. Like fucking corporations are handling a vaccine rollout in most places.

This is why a National Guard is supposed to exist. To defend ourselves only, and to have a highly trained and specialized force to respond to all types of disasters. Medical, logistics, pilots, cooks, mechanics, vehicle crewman, etc.

Remember when Oregon (?) was on fire and the only 3 national guard helicopters were in Afghanistan? Lol
