Do they just all fucking hate Greenland for some odd reason or is this just a map of countries americans have heard about before
It's common for Greenland data to be excluded from maps because it is actually part of Denmark.
French-Guiana apparently just got France's rating as far as I can tell so what the hell is going on
also a colonial possession and the home of France's space launch facilities, DGSE does a lot of skullduggery to keep it that way
Well yes but why did they get Frances rating and Greenland didn't get Denmarks is the question
Does YouGov just hate Greenland then? Or do the americans just happen to have the same opinion about France as about French-Guiana?
I think it's because French Guiana is considered a part of metropolitan France. They see as much of a part of France as Aquitaine or Brittany. But IIRC Greenland is more like a protectorate or a territory than actually a part of Denmark. Not saying it makes sense, just that's the distinction they may draw.
still a [bunch of long words to make a euphemism for "colonial possession"] of Denmark
do americans like brazil or is it just the biggest country in south america so they at least know it in passing
there actually are multiple ones of those including a bigger one that was made recently in the brazilian south but the rio one is the original big jesus statue and as with all good big statues was given to us by the french
What's your opinion about Brazil?
[extremely frat boy voice] fucking love bald pussy man, 100%
[extremely frat boy voice] fucking love bald pussy man, 100%
Okay who called up Stavros?
They like Brazil because of Bolsonaro and have solidarity both being settler states.
Bet you anything the vast majority of yanks have zero fucking clue who Brazil's head of state is.
i actually would think bolsonaro has a bad effect on that because he is just destroying the amazon and he is not even coy about it but he is also the one international figure that thinks trump won that election and biden is a fraud so yeah the hogs would love him
Most people I've seen online only know about Brazil because of Bolsonaro's support.
I don't know what kind of people you see online but that's not really the thing most people know about Brazil lol
Ignorant americans I've seen think Brazil and Mexico are interchangeable.
Lmao maybe they're like "oh I think that's where Amazon headquarters is. I love my Alexa"
The italian system of do-whatever-just-bribe-the-right-guy is the american fantasy
Honestly just replace every "west/ whites good, non-whites bad" map with this
Americans all caught that one episode of Arrested Development back in 2003 and unironically believe that Portugal is down South America way.
I really really wanna know what % of Americans actually thinks Portugal is in South America
45% have never heard of it
35% think it's in South America
20% think it's in Europe
It's kinda nestled in there, but more west than south; the southern 2/3 of the western coastline is Portugal, the rest is Spain.
There is literally no reason for Greenland to be excluded other than a statistician injoke
What is noticeable is that although there are many countries Democrats like much more than Republicans, there are just two that Republicans like much more than Democrats. These are Israel (which 69% of Republicans have a positive view of compared to 36% of Democrats) and the USA itself (95% vs 68%). The third largest difference is over Poland, which Republicans are just 6 points more likely to see favorably, at 50% vs 44%.
lol
