Non-human beings are our comrades :vegan-liberation-rad: :vegan-v:
Remember the rules; in particular, this comm is for vegans only. Feel free to discuss anything from beans :bean: to your undying and eternal hatred for carnists. :frog-no-pretext:
:vegan-edge: Veganism isn't a diet, it's about animal liberation.
Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose

Can you really call yourself vegan if you haven't overheated your blender trying to make too much hummus at one time?
:im-vegan:
My house is all vegetarian, and the rest of them eat vegan 95%, but a non-vegan houseguest is here for a bit and LOVES to cook. Her old college roomie, my current one, has joined in on the frenzy and now stuff with butter and milk is starting to take up more and more of the fridge and kitchen time.
Now meat is on the table for the first time. I like the guest but damn I'm hoping things return to normal when she leaves.
i'm gonna make some vegan lasagna tomorrow. i made some last week and it came out great, but i think i used a little too much nooch. i used cashews last time, but i'm gonna try almonds for the "ricotta." anybody have any experience with this?
update, cashews are way better than almonds, as i shoulda known. i don't get how it takes a gallon of water to grow a fucking almond, and you still end up with this like dry paste bullshit. cashews ftw.
V should always stand for Vegan, never Vegetarian. Now I’m stranded at a place where I can only drink the coffee becuase of this betrayal.
i always assume the v is for vegetarian unless confirmed otherwise
related to that, theres this really good place in my city called "mother chu's vegetarian kitchen" and its all actually vegan except like two of their hundred-odd dishes have honey in them, like why not just switch to maple syrup and go all the way? is calling yourself a vegan restaurant really that scary?
If I'm not eating :bean: you can catch me eating :spaghetti-code: but you'll never catch me eating meat :meatless: because :im-vegan:

Refired my :bean: and they came out tasty :chefs-kiss:

Soaking more for tomorrow's batch
:im-vegan:
I had to ditch my old recipe sites because every meal required not one but multiple animal products. What are some good replacements?
Here are my two favorites:

https://minimalistbaker.com/
Partner made a big batch of soft pretzels, they're sooooo good; went well with some broccoli 'cheddar' soup (did you know that 90% of the creaminess of stuff like broccoli cheddar is from the roux, and not the cheese, and is roux is super easy to make vegan?)
Made a damn good carrot soup, pretty simple recipe actually
1312 Put the 1 and the 3 together and you have B12
Coincidence? I think not :illuminati: The most ethical source of B12 is eating cops.
